Bag vs Rock; Bag wins.

I'ved used this bag on avg 2-5 days a week for the past year.I haul my climbing gear to local crags or run through slot canyons with it (work as a climbing guide). In the current state I see no reason why I will not be using it in another year. In slot canyons this has taking the abuse of being thrown, dragged, or rubbed against sandstone. There are holes in the bottom that allow water to escape if you have to swim in canyons. This is not a canyoneering bag and will not keep gear waterproof. Even though I've never hauled it up a wall it's really straight forward to remove the shoulder and waist straps. There is a blue pouch inside to store stuff like a wallet or cellphone. For sport climbing there is plenty of room in this pack. It's going to be really tight if you want to throw a rope in there. With trad gear it's going to be a full bag imo with water, food, etc. I carry a rope on top of the bag.After a year all the stitching, slings, metal components, and laminated surface are in excellent condition after regular abuse. I highly recommend Black Diamond haul bags over competitors. I have a friend with a haul bag of a well known competitor that more or less went to hell after a single canyon and it also lacked holes to drain water in the bottom so he had to stop and tip the bag over multiple times to lose the extra weight of water. I use this bag for all adventures in the desert south-west.
