4757 Hogwarts Castle is a Harry Potter set released in 2004. This is the second LEGO rendition of Hogwarts Castle and is based on its appearance in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. One of the features that sets it apart from all LEGO versions of Hogwarts past and to come is the motorized mechanisms in the front entrance that connects the clock face, a large pendulum, and the gearing that opens the entrance doors.

This second version of the castle continues the LEGO Hogwarts tradition of being made up mostly of sand green, tan, and grey LEGO bricks, but has a layout very different from its predecessor and uses more grey for the roofing. Rather than a chain of towers, this castle set consists of three separate buildings. These are the Gatehouse, the Main Hall (which can be split into three separate towers), and Gryffindor Tower. The set inlcudes nine minifigures: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Trelawney, a Skeleton, and two Dementors.

We were so excited to find this listed for sale. It is the retired Harry Potter Castle and Prisoner of Azkaban Set (#4757). They no longer make it and we were having difficulty locating it. Finally, we found one at a reasonable price and we were quick to buy it.

This dining set is so realistic! And the way the cushions hook onto the chairs is so cute...very well put together...great craftmanship! My neice is having fun playing with it in her doll house.

nice big table

My daughter and I love playing dolls with this table. We actually use mini Strawberry Shortcake dolls or Polly Pocket dolls in the dollhouse because they're more interesting to play with than the wooden dolls and they fit pretty well on this table. You can get the four chairs that come with this set around the table and add two more chairs of your own for a 6 piece table setting. The chairs have removable cushions that are pretty cool, but we don't use them because then the dolls tip off the chairs too easily.

Good, but could be better

I could not keep my eyes off this dining set so bought it instead of the Hape one, which comes with tableware. It is no doubt very attractive but the table turned out to be too big for our rather spacious dollhouse. The other thing that disappointed me was the cushions. You just can't make the dolls sit on the chairs with the cushions on them.

We adore all of the plan toys dollhouse accessories. This set is really cute, durable, and also helpful for potty training! Love that plan toys is eco responsible and not toxic at all. Yes, their prices are higher than plastic toys - but the quality is well worth it. I know we'll have these for years to come.

Plan Toys are Great!

I bought this to go with the matching dollhouse. (MY First Dollhouse by Plan Toys) My four-year-old granddaughter just loves these toys. They are well-made, sturdy and very easy to assemble. I was not familiar with this company until I purchased the dollhouse and basement, but would recommend them (Plan Toys) to anyone looking for educational, well-built toys.

We have the plan toys doll house & Decor furniture. This is a great addition! I would say though that I wish that it had something more (like pegs on the top of the basement & holes in the base of the doll house) for stability. The doll house tends to want to slide around a little when sitting on the basement.

Very useful and imaginative!

I bought this as a "room addition" instead of a basement. Yeah, it's open roofed. So what? I divided the room with the dollhouse bookshelves. One room is a family room and the other the laundry room. The "Dahl" family loves it and so will my granddaughter (when she's older). This piece was easy to put together. Hape, Educo and Plan are all great products. So far I have no complaints.

The best of the best

We looked at every dollhouse -- on-line and up close. Our criteria was:1. Made of wood2. Durable3. Large enough for (2) children to simultaneously play4. Not made in ChinaThis beautiful Victorian dollhouse fit the bill - the pictures, while nice, don't do this product justice. Imposing and elegant, easy to construct, and durable. So far it's been a catalyst for hours of rich, imaginative play.If you're not familiar with Plan Toys, there are other incentives for buying this product. They are a designated Green company. The wood comes from recycled rubber trees, non-toxic glues are employed and, while not applicable here, organic vegetable dyes are used instead of paint. The company is located in Thailand, where the toys are also manufactured.I gave it (5) stars but there were (2) imperfections, one the fault of shipping, the other by design:1. A shard of gable trim was broken upon opening the box. It arrived a day before the birthday so I repaired with a quality wood glue. Since the shard fit perfectly and didn't splinter, it was a perfect fit and undetectable.2. As another reviewer mentioned, the stairs are not stable -- if the house is moved or jostled they fall down. Again, I used wood glue and it can now survive a rough night at sea.However, given the ease of remedying the staircase issue, I would hardly label this a show stopper.

Plan Toys Victorian dollhouse contains MDF but is made from super low emissions glue

I was shocked to discover the Plan Toys Victorian Dollhouse I ordered for my 3 year old contains panels of MDF. I worried it contained off-gassing formaldehyde so I opted to return the item. The seller is awesome and made the whole experience completely painless. My fears were eased when I received a detailed explanation from Plan Toys explaining the whole MDF thing. I include it here since I could not find the same info on their website:"Thank you for your email.[I am] Marketing Communications Manager for PlanToys.I like to inform you that the glue that we use for the MDF is special glue. We called it "E-Zero" glue. It is non-toxic. Together with a leading university in Thailand, we have developed this e-zero glue that contains less then 0.05ppm (part per million) of formaldehyde emission. It contains so little that it doesn't show up in the standard detecting equipment for the formaldehyde. E-zero glue does not harm consumers' health and thus it is highly appropriate for toy manufacturing. We also have a certificate by an international certified body to confirm this too.The standard glue that uses in the toys and furniture industry is E1. For PlanToys this is not enough. Everything we do must exceed all standards. All of our toys are tested above the international toys safety standard by both in-house laboratory and international testing laboratory. Safety of the children is our top priority.You can be assured that all PlanToys are safe and environmental-friendly.I hope that I answered your question. I love Plan Toys for the fact they are completely non-toxic and from replenishable rubberwood.The dollhouse in large enough for little hands to get in their are really play.My only complaint are the staircases...they fall out quite easily.

Indestructible Dollhouse - Best buy for Toddlers Boys & Girls

Easy to assemble. I was amazed at how sturdy & solid this dollhouse is. The quality is excellent and it is very large. I got it on Amazon during some crazy sale for $22 and expected to get what I paid for: a so-so but serviceable toy. I wasn't even expecting the greatest quality for what I paid, even though it was Brio. Was I wrong. The wood is SOLID hardwood, not the thin, easily breakable wood stuff of my son's Ryan's Room Firehouse.Given the price, I bought two and painted the triangle & rectangle front pieces pink & white for my daughter and red and blue for my son and left the rest natural. They look fantastic.It is the perfect first dollhouse for a young child/toddler. We will invest in a "fancier," prettier one for my daughter when she is older, but it doesn't get any more perfect than this for a 3-year old. My son loves that he has a "clubhouse" for the guys (Spidey, SuperDude, his Ninja Turtles). It has even spent some time being the Bat Cave, an army barracks, an animal rescue center and a Dino-Safari headquarters.I can't even imagine how enormous it will be when we add the basement. Best toy I have purchased for a toddler overall.

sturdy wooden dollhouse

I bought this for my 4 and 2 year old daughters for Christmas. I was very happy with how easy it was to assemble and how sturdy it is. I bought this because it looked like it wouldn't break the first time they played with it, and I'm pleased that it is up to my expectations. It is open on two sides, so it makes it easier for my girls to play at the same time. Good product.

Excellent dollhouse - perfect for our 2 1/2 yr old!

Our 2 1/2 yr old daughter loves this dollhouse! We bought it because it's the perfect combination of simplicity in its form, quality and detail. The craftmanship of the dollhouse is solid and well made, with two sliding windows on the front and a great balcony! The quality of the furniture is second to none -- excellent craftsmanship/attention to detail and the Plan Toys family is poseable so you can bend them into whatever position needed (sitting, standing, lying down, etc.) The one gripe is that the dollhouse and the basement don't lock together -- the house slides off a bit (maybe an 1") from the base when you move it (though not completely because it's partially locked). It's not the end of the world though, if it really bothers me, I'll glue them together.It's a dollhouse that she can grow with and I guess we'll eventually replace when she's 8 or 9 with something more complex/detailed. We bought it through Imagine the Challenge, a merchant partner of Amazon, and they had a great deal on the house, the basement and all the furniture. Also, it was easy to assemble -- took this non-mechanically-inclined Dad about 1/2 hour to put it all together.I hope this helps. Good luck!

We got this for my son last week for his fourth birthday. He loves it! It's the pefect size for all his Matchbox, Hot Wheels, and other diecast cars. It was also amazingly easy to assemble and seems sturdier than some of the other toy garages I've seen. This one's a winner at our house!

Wonderful, wonderful! I had never heard of PLAN Toys prior to purchasing this garage for my twin grandsons, but I would love to buy ALL of their products. It is wood, not plastic, great colors, easy to assemble and unbelievably sturdy. The elevator structure is amazing and the boys were thrilled with it. An absolutely first-rate toy - forget Fisher Price or any of the others. Am on a search for more PLAN toys! Worth twice as much as I paid for it if not more!!

Wood splintered after a week of occasional play

I really wanted to like the Parking Garage and PlanToys as a company. The company is eco friendly, has good looking toys and uses real wood. The concept is excellent -- a moving elevator, ramps for parking on multiple levels, well marked parking spots, a parking attendant that sits and stands, gas pumps, a car wash and a heli-pad. What's not obvious is that only a single car is included. This should be clearly marked. There is no helicopter either. Ever see a single car in a parking garage. It's lonely. Despite this, my son has been playing with the garage on and off and seems to enjoy it. One design issue is that the gas pumps are very difficult to reach. They are exciting but impossible to play with. My big issue with the toy however is that the red wood has come apart from the second floor after about a weeks worth of occasional play. In contrast we have many Haba toys that are true quality wood and last forever. I was expecting significantly more given the price of this toy. I will contact the manufacturer for some sort of resolution. Will post follow-up.
