5Vintage Oak Hanging Wine Glass Rack
By Noonan75
We bought this wine glass rack to hang over the island in our kitchen, since we lacked the cupboard space to keep all our wine glasses and water goblets upstairs. My wife was concerned that it would make our kitchen look like a bar. I bought it anyway and hoped she'd come around. I am glad I did, because it looks great, the wife loves it, and we can hold all our wine glasses within easy reach in the kitchen. Capacity surely varies with the size of your stemware, but we have eight white wine glasses, eight red wine glasses, and eight water goblets all on there at the same time. Our wine glasses are large, but i've seen bigger. We get positive comments on this rack all the time. You will not be disappointed in it. It is, however, rather large, so be prepared for that. And it is as dark as it appears in the picture.

5Great looking wine glass rack
By S. Susi
This is a very nice wine glass rack. It looks even better than in the pictures. The product is actually a made-to-order product, which wasn't stated in the description, so when my order didn't show up as expected, I contacted Wine Spectator. They explained the mistake in the description and then went over and above to make up for their mistake. The customer service was wonderful to deal with.

5It works!!!!
By Reviews for you
This is a great solution to a common problem, I have a flat screen LCD and wanted to hide all the components in my closet. In order to do this, you need a IR/RF converter, I looked an many products and hesitantly settled on this one. I was concerned it would be too difficult to program. I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to program my DVD, DirecTV and TV in one night with very little reading of the manual. The IF blaster does not need to be pointed at the components either, mine sits on top of my DirecTV box and works great with no delay. I rarely write reviews but felt a sense of obligation since I read so many reviews before I bought my DVD and sound system. I hope this is helpful.

5Awesome!
By Drew Ragan
This is my second RF remote. My first was a radioshack brand, which was a pain to program. This remote works flawlessly on all 3 floors of my home. I have it rpogrammed for all of my TV's, my home theater with a projector and my stereo system. No matter where I am in my house, I can control my stereo (or any other device that is in range of the base station). It works through walls, ceilings and floors...even if I am outside and have my exterior speakers on, I can contol the stereo. It was a breeze to program and the ability to customize the button names is great! It is a great remote that is easy to use and doesnt even intimidate the babysitter!

4Great Universal Remote for those who want to hide their equipment
By Carl E. Smith
Strengths: Thanks to the RF Base Station, I can hide all my equipment behind a cabinet. There is no need for an IR sensor. Excellent user interface. Can handle many components, and has good ergonomics.Weaknesses: Very difficult to program. The owners manual poorly written leaving out important detail that I had to call manufacturer to obtain.Summary: After many hours of trying to program the remote, and figuring out the Universal Remote Controls programming protocol, I can see great potential in this device and would buy another. This is a device for someone computer/gadget savvy. I am not a "techie", but I believe many people would be challenged programming this remote. If you can figure out how to use the remote to its fullest potential, you will be very pleased.

5Raw sound quality for my raw music like nothing I've known
By Ilan Dor
First off, let me save certain people the trouble of reading the following review: If you've got to convince yourself that a pair of earphones could be worth what these cost, they probably aren't.When I first put these on (with my correctly-fitting size of included ear adapters), I was comparing them with a $9 pair of Sony earbuds that I've been using for the past few years. I couldn't believe it, but I thought my crappy Sony earbuds sounded 100 times better. "Where's the bass?" I thought to myself when switching the '3's' back into my noggin for the second time and still not hearing it.It took me about 5 minutes to finally figure out the trick that Sony, Panasonic and all of the other consumer-grade electronics manufacturers have been playing on me and you all along: they deceptively amplify the bass response from that of the musician's original intent to cover up the dismal sound quality and inaccurate reproduction of the music provided by their inferior wares. Yeah, that 'Mega-Bass' is more like a bunch of mega BULL.The '3's do not overpower you with bass. They deliver your music to you as your favorite musicians intended for you to hear it. What you are paying for with these headphones is ACCURACY. Those tight, crisp high-hats bucketed in syncopated pockets of time that you may have not even heard before will elude you no longer, once you get the '3's. The slight tune-decay of those analog synth chords that you're supposed to hear just upon the release of the keys on your favorite 70's fusion recordings would send chills through any jazz/funk afficionado like myself, but you'll never hear 'em without these puppies. The raw, airy echo of live drums that manifests the musically intended mood of good music more than almost any other component or aspect, imho, will be kept from you no longer once you are down with the '3's.I just got these today, I put them in my ears over two hours ago, and here it is, 10:20pm, I've got work early tomorrow morning, and I cannot even tear myself away from these. I'm hearing my music for the first time, as far as I'm concerned. These headphones literally bring me to tears. What's your music collection worth to you? Mine's worth about $10K in monetary value, priceless in musical value. I look at it this way now: If I didn't get the '3's, I wouldn't have saved the cost of the headphones - I would have wasted the value of my entire musical collection.BTW, I do not work for Shure and I have no connection with them, Sony, Panasonic or the like.If you are one of those conspiratory-minded people that think that a review this strong on musical electronics could only come from someone looking to knock a corporate power off of its perch, that's cool with me; you probably don't understand music very well or a thing I've said above if you have time to waste on such thoughts that you could be spending listening to music.

5Compact and GREAT
By Debra Chong
Not being an audiophile but just an ordinary listener, I decided to splurge and check these out as Shure has a return policy. Am not disappointed --- really pleased to have the quality of great sound. Clear and crisp as one had great speakers. Don't bother with looping the cord over the ears, they work fine the regular way and check out the various inserts for the best fit. I have Sony noise cancellation headphones for over 7 years now and use those too, as well as medium priced Koss headphones from Radio Shack but neither compare to the E3c --- so save your money by not buying all those other headphones that will sit and go with the Shure E3c!

5excellent!!!!
By Alex theodo
I ordered my pair the day after thanksgiving. I was a bit hesitant, due to the price, but let me tell you they worth every penny. I have not tried the 5cs, but this pair is good enough. As other users said, when you hear a song you truly love and have heard for thousand times before, it's like you are listening for the very first time. They passed my Enigma; Sting; Lara St John, and Cher tests with flying colors. The music is deep, not distorted, and detailed as if you are in the music hall in the best seat. Excellent choise, don't be bothered by the price, since we are paying $300 plus for our ipods, they deserve the best headphones out there. An important note, make absolutely sure that the headphones are all the way inside your ear canal, otherwise you will be dissappointed. The earphones come with a fitting package that will accomodate almost anybody's ears. The key is that the earphones need to be all the way inside your ear canal. One bit downside is the cord is a bit akward. I guess it will take some getting used to, but for $180, I think the company can do a bit better with cord management. An additional comment regarding Bass; What we have to keep in mind is that these earphones are reproducing the sound in its 'pure' form. In other words they take the sound with all its attributes and reproduce it. That means that you will not be overpowered by bass. A lot of low priced earphones overcompensate with the bass to cover up the lack of the other details of the sound reproduction. A good example is the MDR series from Sony which are also inside the ear design. The MDRs overcompensate in the bass, because they distort the other elements of the sound. I am an avid audiophile for Jazz and Classical music, some pop too; but jazz and contemporary classical are my favorite genres. I am attending live performances very frequently. My take away from the live performances is that there is no overpowering of bass. Bass is supposed to be complimentary adding tempo to the overall performance, not being the performance itself. Thus, it might take a while to get used to the reduced presense of bass in these earphones, but this absence does not mean they are not good earphones. The absence actually means that they work they way they are supposed to be working. As mentioned earlier, if you don't hear any bass, then you are not fitting the earphones into your ear canal per the instructions.

5Out of the box, complete macro flash kit
By HMMWV
Update 10/2010 - this was written prior to the E3 and E5 - both of which CAN control the flash for a spread of lighting by changing flash intensity (you'll need a HV-1 high voltage supply to be able to keep up at 5 flashes per second). This review says the flash is the only way to adjust light intensity which was true on the E300 prior to the E3 and E5's introduction. Now it can be controlled from the camera - that's the only change. . Personally I've developed a liking for the twin flash for macro work after using both the ring and twin. The ability to angle the light and check for hot spots with the modeling light included prior to shooting the exposure is very helpful, while the ring light shows up in many shots as a ring of light in specular environments. Photoshopping it out isn't hard, just a pain. The twin can be adjusted to not overlight an area of the exposure. Now on with the reviewOlympus manufactures two flash units, a GN36 ring flash and a GN22 twin flash system. Both use the FC-01 flash controller, however each can be angled uniquely. While the ring flash is directed out parallel to the lens, the twin flash can be adjusted over 45 degrees inward to the lens, and rotated horizontally or vertically. For hard to light scenes the twin flashes can be removed and attached to small tripods. The FC-01 controller, which must be close, can be extended using an FC-05 cable. The difference in the TF-22 and the STF-22 is that the STF-22 kit includes the FC-01 flash controller. The Olympus TF-22 Twin Flash Head (Needs FC-01 Flash Controller, FR-1 & SR-1) is an add-on for existing SRF-01 owners. The twin flash fits almost every lens made. On the 50mm prime lens, it does need the FR-1 adapter (as does the ring flash) - but this protects the lens focus which extends nearly 50 mm from the lens body, so it's not a bad accessory to have.On the 50-200 mm zoom and the 14-54 mm lenses, the ring flash simply mounts to the bayonet for the sunshade mount. The twin flash screws into the filter threads on these lenses for mounting. One lens can not use the ring flash at all - the 11-22 mm wide angle which is a good macro lens as well. The reason is that is spreads out to a 72 mm filter thread, much larger than the normal 67 mm thread. The TF-22 CAN be used with the 11-22 mm lense because it has a double threading, with the second for the 72 mm filter thread on the 11-22 mm lens making it an exceptional wide angle macro lens.As a result the TF-22 works on everything the Ring flash does, and one more. The FC-01 flash controller has unique operating modes depending on which flash unit is plugged in. On the TF-22 it gives you 16 steps to balance the amount of light sent to the "A" flash and the "B" flash. This can create interesting lighting effects. When used with the Ring Flash or Twin Flash, the FC-01 MUST be used to adjust your fine tuning illumination of the scene, as the camera can not keep up at the close distances. In effect, the +/- control on the camera is deactivated using a macro flash, but the FC-01 has a +/- 3.0 adjustment on the flash itself, so you are able to get the perfect exposure. You have the option of TTL metering or using full manual control if you have gone to manual exposure on the camera. In all cases, with all flashes, you have modeling lights that can be activated by a button on the FC-01. I find the best use for these is to predict where your image of the flash will appear in the final photo by looking for the modeling lights in the viewfinder prior to the exposure. The twin flash gives you the ability to angle the lights in such a way as to keep the glare out of the lens and keep spots out of your final picture. With the ring flash you end up moving the whole camera.Note - Due to the angles possible on the twin flash you MUST have clean filter glass or else every spec of dust will show up in your photo, expecially with the 11-22 mm lens due to its depth of field at high f stops.ORDERING:You only need ONE FC-01 flash controller for macro flashes, so olympus setup their ring/twin flash systems into both KITS and add-ons. If you buy the ring flash KIT (SRF-01) you can add on the twin flash later (TF-22) and have both options. If you buy the twin flash kit to begin with (STF-22) you can buy the ring flash add on later (RF-01) and have the same kit! Unless your FC-01 breaks, or you feel the need to have two macro flashes ready at all times on two backs, then don't buy two kits (beginning with S in the model number) or else you will double up on your flash controllers. The FC-01 can also be purchased separately. As for compatibility, the FC-01 is a copy of the FL-50 and uses the same high voltage generators, such as the SHV-01 and the FP-01. In fact, you can combine the AA NiMH cells in the flash, the FP-01, and the SHV-01 all 3 at the same time to get sub 1 second cycle times with full flash intensity. Compared to the 7-9 seconds on the FL-50, sub second recharge times are great for sequence shootingIn summary- Macro Flashes are good from 6 cm to 6 meters- Ring flash is brighter than the Twin Flash- Twin flash is more controllable than the ring flash for extreme closeups- any product beginning with (S) (SRF-01, STF-22, SHV-01, etc) is a complete kit- The macro flash kits are in keeping with the long distance FL-50(R) flashes and make use of the same high voltage rapid flash supplies.

5This is the way to go for macro shots.
By Steven L. Nelson
I use this flash system for macro shots. I considered a ring light but I wanted the shadow detail one gets from two point sources. The flash units can be positioned in an almost infinite number of positions, 360 degrees around the ring, pointing in or out of the focal path and up and down relative to the subject. You can even direct the flashes to bounce off a reflector. The flash control is very similar to the FL-50 flash, it looks like the same housing and the same controls. I just wonder why Olympus doesn't just combine the two units into a dual use controller with the ability to control the twin flashes and a standard one point flash. One more important point. Don't even consider using this flash with any lens but the Olympus 50mm macro lens. The adapter is built only for the Olympus 50mm macro lens. I wanted a 100mm macro lens so I purchased the Sigma 108mm F2.8 DG Macro lens. It is a fine lens but there is no way this flash unit will attach to that lens, believe me, I tried. I suppose I could have had a machine shop fabricate an adapter but the Olympus 50mm macro with the Olympus 2x converter works very well indeed to get me to the 100mm focal length I was looking for.

Expensive but what in photography isn't? They evidently give the cameras away and make the money on the accessories which can only be bought from them.

5A GN36 ring flash with bayonet mounting for olympus 67 mm lens
By HMMWV
The RF-11 assembly is designed to take advantage of the bayonet mount found on all 67 mm filter assemblies and the FR-1 adapter tube for the 50mm macro lens (the FR-1 forms an extention tube in front of the lens to protect the full focus extension and has the 67 mm filter thread needed for the TF-22 and also the 67mm bayonet system needed for the RF-11)I have no idea why amazon says it needs the SR-1. The SR-1 is ONLY for the TF-22, in fact they say the TF-22 needs the SR-1 - the TF-22 SHIPS with the SR-1. Amazon needs to correct this error because the SR-1 is hard to find anywhere!. It also doesn't need the FR-1 unless you have the 50mm macro lens. The RF11 will lock onto the 14-54 and the 50-200 mm lenses with just a 30 degree twist to engage the bayonets that normally hold the lens hood. As for a flash, it's as powerful as any GN36, but exceptionally parallel to the lens, with no shadow cast by the lens as with flashes mounted above the lens. For greater light control, the GN22 TF-22 twin flash should be used in extreme cases (and it DOES come with the SR-1 to hold the two flashes - see my reviews on the Olympus TF-22 Twin Flash Head (Needs FC-01 Flash Controller, FR-1 & SR-1) for more info there)Most people will want the ring flash first, and then get to the twin flash when their needs dictate. The extra light from the ring flash makes for some great portrait shots. As with the twin flash, the ring flash has 4 modeling lights in the corners to aid in locating the flash reflection in your composition before shooting. They also come on automatically for focus if you have the AF set to use the modeling lights. This is a specialized flash that can be used out to about 6 meters or so - beyond that I would switch to the FL-50. It can be used down to 6 inches and below that I would switch to the TF-22.One last thing - exposure adjustment is no longer done with the +/- key on the camera when using the lens mounted flashes. The Olympus FC-01 Macro Flash Controller (for use with TF-22 & RF-11 Flash Heads) has on it a dial for +/- 3 EV stops that controls the flashes directly. The camera exposure control is not active when using these flashes. All together the flash system is very well designed as the high voltage power supplies work with any flash (the FL-50 and FC-01 are in the same body and accept the FP-1 and SHV-01 power supplies). For close up works they can't be beat.

5Good mount for the price
By Joshua Wormley
I purchased this mount new for a really good price. Off the shelf it works well as an entry level go-to GEM, and the 35lb. payload is a great reason to buy this over some others. Some important things to know going into this mount:1. If you can find it for a really good price and are looking to upgrade from an alt-az mount, this is the mount for you. It has an autoguider port that works with most autoguiders. The same entry level mount from Meade, the LXD series doesn't.2. You will need another counter-weight. And, the counter-weights are not part of the 35lb. payload. They are exempt.3. Spend a day hyper-tuning this mount and it will work even better than new. You don't need to pay for the hyper-tuning service. Just read online forums to learn about this process and get the stuff you need to replace the grease, sand the surfaces, etc. It will make your mount more accurate and extend its life. Plus, you will see how everything works and know what parts do what.4. Buy the AC power cord. Batteries suck!5. Know that this mount is really nice, but still not the best on the market. For the price (around $600.00 new) it rocks! You get what you pay for, and the next mount up is double the price for not much more. That being said, if this, or any mount is not aligned properly then you are boned. If this mount is properly operated it will work really, really well in comparison to any mount on the market. I've taken long exposure CCD images with this mount that have shown nicely round stars. Not the elongated stars of PEC poor mounts.Good luck!

3Potential Issues
By Roman G. Swiatkowski
First, let me say that it saddens me to write a negative product review. Up to this point, I've never had any issues with any telescope product from any company. However, I feel Celestron has some serious issues they need to work out. I received this mount in mid January. Right out of the box, the RA board would not communicate with the hand controller. After some searching around, this appears to be a common problem. I contacted Celestron customer support. That day, the motor drive, hand controller, and DEC cable were sent out under warranty for repair and/or replacement. After three weeks, I received a replacement. However, Celestron failed to return the hand controller and DEC cable. Celestron claims an email was sent to their repair department to send me those parts. However, they do not provide a confirmation email or tracking number. I'm terrified to think it could be another three weeks before I receive them, if I receive them at all. Even then, there is the possibility that the communication problem will exist in this RA board as well and I'll have to go through the whole process again.I have owned this mount for a month now. I have yet to be able to use it. The purpose of this review is to inform buyers that there is a potential hassle factor to consider with this mount and its tech support.UPDATE: I did finally receive the hand control and DEC cable. This time everything worked great. If you don't have the polar axis finder, the mount has a built in "polar align" feature which works nice. I'm pleased with the function of the mount but I chose three stars to reflect dissatisfaction with the whole support experience.

5Great mount
By Evan Whytsell
I bought the CG-5C mount in January and have been using it for awhile now so its time to write the review. Once you get the hang of aligning it with at least 4 stars I found that it can search out objects with very good accuracy. I don't even need to remove my camera to guide from object to object.
