Attractive and useful casserole dish

Cast iron usually isn't my first choice of cookware for several reasons: it isn't non-stick; it's heavy (I have tendonitis in my hands); and it can't go in the dishwasher. Thankfully, Lodge's new enamel-coated line takes care of most of these issues!I recently got my hands on one of their two-quart enamel-coated casserole dishes for review, in apple green. I love the wide, shallow design. After all, many casseroles wind up with browned, crusty toppings--which are the best part!--and this allows more of the casserole to come out that way. I also find this a little easier to lift, particularly because of the wide handles, although you definitely need both hands and I still let my husband move it in and out of the oven for the most part.Two quarts is barely enough for most casseroles, I find; I usually prefer dishes that are two and a half quarts just because they allow a little more room for error and help to avoid spill-overs. However, I think most reasonably-sized casseroles will fit in this.The quality of the enamel coating is part of what I love most about Lodge's enamel-coated line. In the past I've used Le Creuset enamel-coated cast iron (bought quite a while ago, so if they've improved their coating in recent years I can't address that) and it was definitely inferior. It wasn't as slick, so it didn't clean as easily nor release food as easily. It also didn't stand up all that well to metal utensils. In contrast, it's hard to imagine this coating wearing down any time soon. We made cornbread in it and it slid out of the pan without any help at all.I love the way this pan heats evenly, holds heat and keeps a casserole warm until you come back for seconds, releases food with ease, and cleans like a charm despite the fact that you should wash it by hand. It's elegant, the wide and shallow design is perfect for giving you more of the browned topping that's so delicious on most casseroles, and it makes the niftiest oval loaf of cornbread. What more could you want?Well okay, I wish it could go in the dishwasher on general principle, I wish they could come up with a way to make cast iron lighter for those of us with hand problems, and I wish it held just a little bit more. But in good conscience I can only take about half a point off for those, so consider my rating to be 4.5.

Lodge Casserole - Great for cooking on stovetop or in the oven!

A new recipe called for using a cooking dish that would go from stovetop into the oven. I had a really hard time finding one, but this one is PERFECT. Not so deep that I can't easily turn my meat to brown all the sides, and the proportions allow for even cooking of a longer cut of meat, like a whole pork tenderloin. The enamel surface is easy to clean, too. The pretty blue color is an added bonus.

I was very pleased to find this casserole/roasting dish on Amazon. I was even able to get it at a significant discount due to the color selection I went with (blue). It is a beautiful and highly functional dish. I have cooked casseroles, and medium sized roasts in this dish with near perfection. You can't beat it for the price, especially when compared to more high profile brands. And the quality of Lodge's enameled cast iron is just as solid as their regular cast iron cookware. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase!

Gorgeous Cookware

I have both the 7-quart and 5-quart Dutch Ovens by Lodge and have been very happy with both. Besides being versatile and beautiful, they provide all of the benefits of heavy-duty iron cookware without the need for heavy-duty clean up. Best of all, the porcelain enamel surface is non-reactive something that was always a problem with the original cast iron cookware.

Amazing piece of cookware.

This dutch oven is simply great. It's hefty, beautiful, and cooks like a dream. The handle is really neat, too. The quality of the pan is top-notch. It cooks well and cleans up with ease. (...)The pan does appear to be made in China to Lodge's specifications. It's clearly a Lodge pan with their name engraved on the handles. It doesn't bother me in the least, but if that's something that bothers you than best of luck.For me, I have found a pan that's going to be in my kitchen for the rest of my life.

Gives Le Creuset a run for it's money

I've always wanted a Le Creuset Dutch oven for a long time, but they are just too expensive. I like my Lodge cast iron pan a lot so I decided give their enamel Dutch oven a shot. I was impressed the moment I opened the box. It looks and feels like a Le Creuset. I have used it for 2 slow-cooking dishes and it performed flawlessly. Nothing stuck to the inside or outside of the oven. When wearing oven mitts, I also like the handle more than that of Le Creuset.

"Love that Lodge"

Purchased the 7 quart model some months ago. Used it the day after it arrived. I noticed the pot had a hump in the center of the bottom. The high spot caused a hot spot and lent itself to burning no matter what I tried. I fired off an Email to Lodge, and explained my problem. Their reply was immediate, and said they would supply a UPS mailer so I could return it. (Glad I saved the original carton.) I had no problem with their customer service. My replacement came two weeks later, and this one had a flat bottom. After using it numerous times I've become a "Lodge Fan" I gave it 3 stars based on their quality control. Not on the pot's performance or their customer service which was superb. My inconvenience, and the cost of the replacement could have been avoided if quality assurance had been better. Especially when spending $[...] for this item or any tem of theirs for that matter.

Lazer Tag toy teaches teamwork and problem-solving in a fun

Hello, this is my first review of an item on Amazon.com. To start off, I will simply go through the categories the stars highlight, then move on to a broader review.Fun: I am 23 years old, and am not afraid to admit that I bought this stuff mainly for myself... I have 24 sets, which is the maximum number of players in the programmed games. Every game I have played has been a blast, in environments ranging from a large wooded backyard, to a very large woodland park, to a privately reserved coastal fort battery :) The main thing that makes this gear fun game after game is that it has so many different modes of play available. There are straight up free-for-alls, team based games, Protect the leader games, "King of the hill" (Zone) games, and even a couple "Hide and Seek" games, that have you chasing the rival team 1 minute, thun running from them the next (Great cardiovascular workout by the way, just program a 20 minute Hunt/Seek game in close quarters)Educational Value: I gave it a 5 because of 2 key areas of experience it gives which are invaluable throughout an entire lifetime. First, in the team oriented games, the players on the team which can communicate and work together effectively will be able to win over a team that bickers and quarrels. By encouraging random team formations, the game "leaders" can force the players to learn to put aside their differences and work together for a victory. Secondly, when the players on one team find themselves in a bad spot compared to the other team, they will quickly learn to improvise and will develop problem solving skills to allow them to escape from even the most awkward situations. This type of game will probably allow even quicker problem solving than "pen and paper" practice due to the immediate incentives of victory and admiration from teammates and opponents alike.Durability: Flat out 5. This is not to say that you can use the guns to pound a nail into a 2 by 4, but I HAVE taken several tumbles down hills and tripped over several roots while playing, and even landed tagger first a couple times, but none of my gear has sustained anything but minor cosmetic damage. I have also played in light rain conditions, without any problems, although I wouldn't recommend this gear to be used in full rain, as the type of buttons on it would be susceptible to allowing water inside. If you are the parent of a player who DOES get their gear wet and comes complaining to you, the best thing to do is remove the batteries and let it sit for a couple days in a dry place. It will most likely resume normal functionality after it is dry.OK, so that takes care of the ratings Amazon asked me to provide. Now here is something extra I would like to add in. Don't think for a second that this gear is "just for kids" I have been an avid laser tag player since I started picking up gear off of ebay in 1999, and this is the best I have seen. I play with a group of people in the Puget Sound area of Washington that range in age from 8-80, as one member put it (I am too polite to ask exact ages) I will be moving home soon, and plan on forming a club in Central Illinois. I will be sticking with this gear as our main equipment, and hope to see more groups spring up across the country. It is high time Lazer Tag gets the attention and popularity it deserves, and I think this gear will be what turns the key in that lock.

I just saw the review below and had to reply to it (I am one of the inventors of this toy)...It is intended for ages 8 and up as the package indicates, so I don't doubt 6-year-olds would have a hard time with the advanced controls, but you don't need to use them and you certainly don't need to be a teenager to get a lot of enjoyment out of this toy.For just the old fashined grab-it-and-go game, all you have to do is pull the trigger once to wake the toy up and pull it again to start the game. There is a 10-second countdown so that everyone can get to a starting position, then the game begins and it's just like the Lazer Tag everyone knows and loves: you try to tag your opponents 10 times each, and if you do so they are out. You do need to "reload" every 10 tags launched, which is done by pulling the forward handle back and releasing it. So those are the only controls you need for the basic game, just Trigger and Reload. The game runs until everyone is out except for the winner.The headset provides a 3-light display to tell younger kids how they are doing: The green light means you can expect a tag to score if you pull the trigger (you are lined-up on target), the yellow light means the tag scored, and the red light means the other player just scored a tag on you. There are sounds also played with each of these lights, so older kids can leave the headset behind and not miss out on anything. The units also announce "Danger!" if another player is sneaking up on you.There are more advanced games that older kids can set up and customise for themselves, just like in video games. I have yet to see a 10-year-old who didn't have this process down pat within the first few tries, and able to explain it to the 8-year-olds after just a few games. Like anything with advanced capabilities, there is a slight learning curve -- but today's "computer kids" pick it all up right away, everything is designed to be very familiar to any kid who plays video games. Chances are, they'll be teaching their parents how to use this toy to it's fullest capabilities!The most advanced players will enjoy custom-tailoring each game type to the specific locations they are playing in and the players who are in the game, allowing for complex tactical games like "Own The Zone" (like a King Of The Hill game but with Lazer Tag) or "Kings" (you must defeat the opponents' KING to win, not just the guards). These games help teach problem-solving skills, teamwork, strategic thinking, and good sportsmanship.Kids ages 8-10 will mainly prefer the basic grab-it-and-go Lazer Tag game and the basic pre-defined intermediate games. Best Laser Tag System made

This laser tag system is amazing! It is so cool. This is a must have for every child. First the eye peice is really cool, it let's you know when your gun is locked on the target, whenyou shot someone, and when you've been shot by someone else. The range is 250+, even outside. The sounds can be turned on and off. Also, the most astoundingly epic thing about this guns is that there is a LCD screen on the gun. The screen provides real live info, such as how many sheilds you have left and so on. This gun also comes with 11 pre-programmed games. Your child can also customize your own games, enhancing them. Your child will never get bored of the endless features. All i can do is hope that you buy this set, and make you child a happy one.

Fantastic Value

So - what's the big deal already?First Act, which for years was considered a toy manufacturing company, has really risen to the top in regards to the quality and value of their musical instruments. Well...maybe not quite to the top, but pretty darn close.I've played $2000 Gibson Les Pauls, vintage Gibson SG's, American Standard Fender Telecasters and Stratocasters - all of them fine guitars. On a whim, I bought the First Act ME501...I figured for less than a hundred dollars, at worst I could package it up and give it as a gift.I had read very positive reviews of this particular model in Guitar Player magazine, as well as the numerous stories of my rock idol, Paul Westerberg, buying one and taking it on tour with him. Despite this, I was still somewhat skeptical. My doubts were erased with this gem arrived at my doorstep.I was already late for band rehearsal, so I removed the guitar from the box, and placed it into my gig bag - I was initially impressed with the quality and feel of the instrument. The picture on Amazon doesn't do it justice - the paint is much brighter. The cream colored pick guard and matching bindings complemented it perfectly. Unfortunately, I had a half hour drive until I got to plug it in and play it. Oh, sure, the guys in the band laughed at me, but after the first run through the set, everyone wanted a closer look.As lead guitarist for my band, I typically play a nice Telecaster. The ME501 has a much darker tone than I'm used to - sort of like my SG (with P90's), but not as well defined. Not a deal breaker by any means....nothing some tinkering with my Tech 21 Trademark 60 won't fix. As many have stated, the fret board was a little dry, but after a week's worth of playing it's very smooth. The intonation was perfect out of the box, despite changing the gauge of strings, and the action was fantastic...and surprisingly, the guitar stays in tune fairly well - as good as or better than my stock Fender.The bottom line on this guitar - it's a great value, even at full price. I predict these guitars will become highly sought after in the future, much like the vintage Sears Silvertone line is nowadays with the indie rock kids...I'm happy with mine - I'm so happy with mine that I'm taking it onstage with me tonight...

Ok so when I first unboxed the guitar after getting it in the mail I loved the design and color of the guitar. In the picture it looks dull but it's very bright in person. It's a dark red burst which looks very nice. It's got a very nice looking rosewood fretboard. It's a bit dry but a good day or two of playing fixes that. The maple wood neck is also very appealing. It's very light in weight altogether. It's got alnico style humbuckers which have a very nice tone. The strings are a bit too light i think. It's hard to play a clean chord with that light of strings. So overall i really like the guitar. Only bad thing i encountered was when i plugged it into the amp one tone didn't have any sound. It was simple to fix though, there was just a loose cable so it wasn't a big deal. BUY IT!! PLEASE. Do not be tricked by the brand name. Their guitars are very nice and are very good beginners guitars. For the price it is it's an amazing product.-Thanks

I really like the Executive Mouse Pad because it has a clock/calculator. The thing I don't like, is I have to put something on top of the pad to make the wireless mouse work. It will not move the curser without putting paper, etc on top of the mouse which kind of defeats it's purpose. I like the arm rest, and that is why I kept it.

Flexible lower back support

I looked online for a while to find a back brace that would give me both the support and flexibility that I needed. This brace supports the very lower back from the small of your back up to just below the middle (at least on me). The brace fits right against your skin, so you can wear it under your clothes and it has adjustable velcro sides so it can be made to fit just about anyone. This brace really helps when I have to stand for long periods of time.

Worked great for my lower back pain

I use it when my back is causing me to not be able to stand upright. Without it I have to lean forward and use a cane to support myself. I still use the can along with it at times. I sometimes wear it at night because by accident I found it helps with some of my neurological problems. I found that it helps to relieve my Neuropathy in my legs, arms and chest. I have actually had to wrap my arms and legs in ace bandages before I got this brace. I don't know if it will work for you; but I was really glad I found it. The only things I would mention is that it does get warm sometimes. I tend to become very warm when I sleep. Also I wish it was a little longer. Otherwise I would recommend it.

It was very comfortable. It is very good quality. It fits as it should. But unfortunately in my case it produced spasms in my back so I could not wear it
