4Works fine!
By Tiffi
Never had any real problems with this Fluval 304 filter. It is quality manufactured (quite heavy duty compared to some Eheim filters) and very quiet. Further it has plenty space for biological, mechanical, and chemical filtration. The only drawback would be that it is quite difficult to open for maintenance, but managable with the right tricks.

5Does exactly what it's supposed to do!
By Graphic Novel / Manga Reader
Just so you know, I am a middle aged woman who needs visual alert for the doorbell.I previously purchased Heath Zenith SL-6144-A Wireless Plug-In Door Chime Kit Flashing Light Perfect For Hearing Impaired. It came with a strobe light plus a doorbell you had to install. I wasn't crazy about installing a doorbell as I already have one but for less than fifty dollars I figured I'd give it a try. I plugged it on the wall and turned my back to it. During the afternoon, I could not see the strobe light at all. I expected the strobe light to alert me like a flashing camera does. It didn't. Disappointed I took it back to the store.I shopped around to find something that will work with my EXISTING doorbell and to use my own lamp. There are so many products that make you install their doorbell in order for their system to work. I think it's ridiculous. I already have one! (if you live in an apartment, you don't have that option anyway) I found this product! It said it works with your existing doorbell or you can install one that they provide as well. It can be wired or not wired. I thought perfect. Let me try it.I used the wired method: Using my existing doorbell, I wired the "doorbell" onto my doorbell chime. It was an easy process. I did this myself. I put the "doorbell" on top of the chime rather than hang it on the wall next to it. They provide you tools to hang the doorbell next to it OR use it as a doorbell outside if you don't have one. Then I plugged in the signaler elsewhere in room with a lamp plugged onto it. Rang the doorbell and bingo the light flashed just like the doorbell sound would. Few flashes in a row. Can't miss it. It's perfect. I'm really happy with it. It only comes with one box to plug a lamp into it. I ordered an additional receiver so I could use it in another room as well. The not wired way is for you to install the doorbell outside. That's it. Plug in the signaler and lamp and you're ready to go! No wiring needed.Excellent product and is highly recommended!! Well worth the price and it's nice looking, sturdy and well made.

5good quality
By D.H.
These pumps appearantly do not stop working. Had a 250 GPH in my first pond running muck and all through it for 3 years. Have in a skimmer now in a new pond and still going strong 24/7 It is also the same one I run in the winter, so actually 24/7 and all year round. the 1200 gph is just as good. If I HAD to complain and IM NOT, I would say that my 1200 which is used "inline" now is a bit noisy but it really isn't a problem and not sure why it would be a problem for anyone esp. since these cost me next to nothing to run BOTH. cant say enough about them, esp. if you run them in the last phase of a gravity filter (like you should anyway). Theres really nothing to break except the impeller and I don't see why it would even break in my situation. Wouldn't consider any other brand after using these. I really liked the nice looking external pumps I've seen online, but these have already been proven to me. Even if those other ones I was interested in do run a little cheaper per month w/ more gph, whats more important to me is these just wont stop yet. One more thing is you should take the time to run 1200 gph model through no less then 1 1/2" pipe. Get the two extra fittings and do it right.*updatePumps are still flawless through a properly set up koi pond (bottom drain, gravity filtered, settling chamber, matala, K-1 media bed.. the works) Koi happy and healthy w/ no losses, and all of my pumps have been running since my last review appearantly 22 months ago. As for the negative reviews, yes dont buy this if your going to put a pump in the bottom of a store bought pond and pump filthy, lifeless water through a 3/4 inch flex hose from the big box store, then over some rocks, then back to the "pond". Research your needs.

5Years of dependable service.
By Hollye G. Merton
I have had one of these for at least twelve years and it has been running almost continually the whole time. I have had to replace two impellers and a front manifold. It is a workhorse. Very dependable. If you are thinking of buying a submersible for a filter or waterfall, this would be a good choice. I am running mine in a 100 gallon MacCourt pond through a Pondmaster 1000 filter up to my 14" waterfall weir about three feet at a 45 degree diagonal from the pump. It works great and I get a wonderful flow on the waterfall.

5Works great
By R. A. Bennett
This pump appears to be well made, solid construction. I hooked the pump up using 1" tubing to a Cal Pump 10" spillway. Getting good flow rate without any adjustments. Running 3 weeks now, no problems.

5Why do people still buy an iPod?
By Ian Macdonald
You see them everywhere: iPod users. Those tell-tale white headphones give them away as soon as you see them. I used to envy them, with their slick little box of tricks pumping music through their heads for up to ten hours at a time. I wanted one, too, but I thought they were way too expensive for what they were. For one thing, they could only handle a single codec, namely MP3. When, oh when would someone bite the bullet and produce a decent, high capacity OGG-based player for the rest of us?

Alternatives to the iPod have come and gone, but none has really stuck. Apple really cornered the market with what was arguably the first good-looking and well-performing player. Nevertheless, its shortcomings were painfully evident. What the market has been missing ever since is a player that does all that the iPod can, whilst providing features absolutely essential in a truly high-end player, such as an integrated FM radio, voice recorder, support for multiple codecs, and longer battery life.

Such a player seemed like it was still some time away, until iRiver recently came out with the iHP-140. At last, we are offered a 40 Gb player that can handle the MP3, OGG, ASF and WMA codecs, has an FM radio tunable to the band of whichever continent you happen to be on, a voice recorder that works with either the internal or an external microphone, and a respectable 16 hour battery (assuming 128 Kbps MP3 listening at normal volume and no flashy EQ settings). The battery is also Lithium Ion, so there are no battery memory issues to worry about.

After a couple of weeks with my iHP-140, I have to say that it has lived up to the hours of review reading and research I did before purchasing it. As a Linux user, I needed a player that did not depend on my computer operating system. I should not need any proprietary software to index the files, transfer them to the device, flash the firmware or manage the device in any other way.

The iRiver caters to all of those demands and more. The unit supports the USB mass storage standard, so connect it to your computer and a 40 Gb drive immediately appears on the system. Use standard utilities to copy your music files over, dump some playlists via XMMS or a few quickly hacked together Ruby or Perl scripts and away you go. Flashing the firmware is as simple as dumping a file in the root of the unit's file-system and selecting the relevant option from its menu.

The sound quality is excellent, although you'll probably want to replace the supplied ear-buds with something better. The Sony MDREX71SL ear-buds are providing me with adequate service during my bicycle commute to the office. The remote control is very handy for safe control of the device while biking. Just clip it to your T-shirt and lift a hand off the handlebars to change songs or flip to the next directory full of music. You never have to take your eyes off the road.

The FM receiver is of high quality and voice recordings work well, even with the internal microphone.

iPod users at work peruse this device with some suspicion. How could it be better than an iPod, when they haven't even heard of it? Besides, it's a lot cheaper than an iPod, so it must be inferior, right? Think again.

The personal jukebox is finally mature. Whether or not iRiver has the clout to go up against the Apple marketing machine and win the PR battle remains to be seen, but if you're a technically-minded person who wants the most fully featured player on the market today, there's really no contest.

Do I have anything bad to say about it? Yeah, the brown case. What were they thinking? Still, like I said, I'll take features over something that superficial every time.

5Best in class
By Joshua Villines
I couldn't be more delighted with this player. Upon receiving it, I opened the package, connected the AC Adapter, and connected the included USB 2.0 cable.WindowsXP immediately recognized the player as an external drive. I flashed the BIOS, and then started copying files. About 20 minutes later, my 15GB MP3 library was on the player. I immediately started listening to music, and I was bowled over by the sound quality.Since I wanted to be able to choose music by genre or album title, I downloaded the "Moodlogic" software from the iRiver website; and a few minutes later my music library was sorted and categorized in the iRiver's database. The set-up couldn't have been easier, and the manual is excellent. With just a few taps on either the wired remote (which has a bright LCD with all of the functions of the main unit) or the navigation button, I can be listening to a random selection of all of my "Folk Rock" songs; or listening to my favorite Van Morrison album. Build quality, design, and feature set are all top notch; and I've yet to find something that I want it to do that it can't. Although I rarely use it, the FM tuner also works very well.In addition, it's a great way to back-up your PC. The iHP-140 works flawlessly as an external drive. This is one of the few cases where you actually get more than you pay for. Highly recommended. As an added note, the Moodlogic software and BIOS updates are here: http://www.iriveramerica.com/support/H100.aspx

5After 2 months of research, the iHP-140 Won my money!
By nursetype
Just purchased the iHP-140 from Amazon.com recently, after 2+ months of researching for the BEST mp3 player out there for the money.

I won't go into very technical details with this review.

POSITIVE ASPECTS..

FIRST..It has the LONGEST BATTERY LIFE out there. 16 hours based on "normal" playback. Takes 3 hours to charge from a COMPLETELY discharged state. (Much less time if battery still partially charged.) After I researched iPod and ALL others, this was the longest battery life you could get. Has an internal rechargable battery with no memory effect.

SECOND...Some people say that there is a long "learning curve" to this player. Actually, if you can move files in Windows Explorer, you can drag and drop files directly. AND with the USB 2.0, its a flash to drop files... virtually NO waiting. I've become the queen of copy and paste my files to this player.

THIRD...You can use it as an extra, external Hard Drive for storing or exchanging files. (a big plus if you need extra HD space)

FOURTH...Has a GREAT FM Radio! No, you can't record directly from the FM Radio to the player, but...I haven't done that in years, so this is an UNimportant aspect.FIFTH....Recording operations are numerous..YOU CAN RECORD FROM OTHER EXTERNAL AUDIO SOURCES. Just plug in something (like someone's CD player) into the optical jack. OR.. I can use the EXTERNAL MICROPHONE to the LINE IN jack. It can be a DIGITAL VOICE recorder (just talk into the thing while recording voice, just like a separate DVR unit). OH... it comes with all the stuff to record from these devices.

SIXTH...Compare the price to the 40GB iPOD???? OUCH!! iHP-140 sure does win over that one!

SEVENTH...Media player compatability is the BEST. It is not just pigeon-held to only MP3 types of media. It is compatable with SEVERAL file types (see product specs). AND the firmware is upgradeable! So future upgrades are a big plus. This unit will still be great in the future too.

EIGHTH...you can plug this puppy into a car radio, via a "purchased separately" cassette thing.

AND there are many more positive aspects to this unit if you like to customize your music, playback options, equalizer, sound, etc.

NEGATIVES........

*Cost can be an issue for some people. I paid a grand total of $400.00 even. CHEAPEST anywhere! All on Amazon.com!!! Trust me, I've looked EVERYWHERE, (ebay, used, new, retail, wholesale etc.) Amazon had it on sale, with FREE shipping, and $30.00 off for opening up a credit line with them. So, got a great deal.

*The earbud earphones are uncomfortable for me. So they supply a special adapter jack for other types of earphones if the ones you like don't fit the units earphone jack.

*The unit is slightly heavy, I just weighed it on a postage scale, with the case its about 8 - 10 ounces. Not for joggers, but bikers and for regular people, its great.

FINALLY..I just wanted a digital player because my cd's were constantly getting lost, scratched or "borrowed" from my teenager. I just wanted to listen to music without the hassels of changing a cd, or carrying around a cd player. With the 1200 hours of music I can store on this, I'll never have to search for a cd again! AND ... it won't be outdated in 6 months! I wanted to have this be the first, and possibly last digital music player I would ever need.

WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT. :-)

5This is the greatest
By Bruce Langworthy
I got one of these as a gift and just installed it in my garage, it's made it very easy to keep things organized and out of the way.The only minor complaint is that I wish Amazon sold some of the additional hooks and shelves that are available for this organizer, because it appears that while you can order the shelves through amazon, the addtional hooks and shelves can only be ordered directly from the manufacturer.Over all, I love this system, and now looking at getting some of their other items such as the Laundry room and garden tool organizers.

4Good entry level laser printer
By the-big-bend
I am a Mac user and a scientist. In my profession, most of the papers are in the PDF format. This printer handles these documents very well. If you set the resolution to 1200 dpi, the graphics in the papers would look even more impressive and photo-like. It is small and easy to set up so it does not occupy too much desk space. It can do double sided printing without additional gears. It is slow though if your documents are of several MBs in size and contains complex pictures. I have added additional memory to rectify this. From time to time, it has problem handling web pages in Safari.

5Linux Support out of the box..
By uhmgawa
I'm impressed with the Brother HL-5150D.I've been looking quite a while for aninexpensive duplex laser printer. At$222 delivered from Amazon I expected theusual pain and suffering trying to coaxghostscript or some holy binary-only driverto talk to it.I attached it via parallel/centronics portand launched printtool under RH9 only to findthe printer wasn't listed in the Brothermenu. Thinking it was a complete long shot Iconfigured it as a native PS printer expectingpages of gibberish to fill the hopper. To mysurprise the printer actually talks PSincluding duplex support._Never_ have I had an inexpensive laser printerso quickly and easily go from the UPS truckto productive use under Linux.Nice work Brother. You deserve to sell millionsof these.

5Linux/Windows XP dual oot system works well with printer
By nom_de_plume
This is the best duplex printer I could find for its price. Its print speed and quality are impressive. The time from cold start to first page is also quite fast.So far the printer has worked seamlessly in my Windows XP 2.0 SP2 setup using a USB 2.0 interface. Word, acrobat reader, explorer, etc. have all worked very nicely. Printer setup interface is simple and clear. After a quick and well documented configuration step, the printer also worked in my SuSE Linux 9.1 setup. In Linux I tested printing with acroread, a2ps, openoffice, ghostview, mozilla, evolution email client, konqueror, command shell, etc. Mozilla had a hard time chosing the correct font on a particular website (NY Times) and the printout was horrible. But this is an issue with the software as other Linux browsers did fine. Other than that I had no issues in Linux. The printer emulates postscript level 3 and does PCL6 so it is quite versatile. Overall time to first page is slower in Linux and Windows XP.It is not a networked printer but my intent is to transform it into one should I need to connect many computers. I'll just buy a cheap 'print server' or a 'wireless print server' to do the job. Surprisingly this is cheaper and more versatile than buying the model of the printer ready for networking (HL-5170DN).I have yet to encounter a single printer jam after over a month of usage. Toner cartridge have a very fair price per page if one shops on the internet.I have not tested the printer with the Apple platforms. The printer does not do color but I backed off that requirement when I saw the maintenance costs of a color printer. If you need color and duplex then look at the CLP-500 and CLP-550n by Samsung for a low priced printer.I can only recommend this printer.

5Torin Jack TA91206
By M. Seibel
I purchased this jack to lift a motor-home. I was hoping that I had bought one that would still be able to lift up the vehicle so I could change a tire on the road if need be. After lifting rear of motor-home as a test with my air compressor, I tried the pump action on the jack, concerned that it may not work due to the fact it was a very short stroke with little resistance pressure. I was impressed that it lifted with ease, though not as fast as the air assist it still worked awesome. Thanks Amazon for selling another great product.

Got this for changing and rotating tires on my toy hauler. Not only did it jack the tires, but I looked forward and the landing gear was off the ground too! Didn't break a sweat. You can operate this jack manually without an air compressor in a pinch, like on the side of the road.

3Comparing the 12 most popular racquetball rackets
By J.L.
Buying racquetballs rackets is confusing, even for someone like me who plays regularly and has used lots of different rackets. Rackets vary considerably in weight, balance, and power (not to mention price). Below is a brief overview of which factors determine which combination of weight/balance/power is best for you. See Racquetball Warehouse's buying guide for more details.* Racket balance: I would generally recommend looking for an evenly balanced or slightly head-light racket. The balance really affects the feel of the racket, and I find that head-heavy rackets, while generating more power, are much harder to control. Head-light rackets will give you greater maneuverability but will generate less power. Unfortunately Amazon does not generally tell you whether a racket is head light or head heavy, so check out Racquetball Warehouse for those specs.* Racket weight: I would generally recommend looking for a weight between 170-185 grams to give you the best combination of power and control. You may want to go lighter if you are an advanced player who generates your own power. You may want to go heavier if you rely on more of a control game.* Swing weight: I would generally recommend looking for a swingweight between 150 and 160 for a good combination of power and control. Higher swing weights give you more power but less control, and vice versa.* Grip size: I would generally recommend the smaller grip size (3 5/8) to allow for greater wrist snap, but it's not a big deal.* Head size: 105 sq. inches is pretty standard--don't go more than a few inches lower than that.---I was recently in the market for a new racket, so I researched the top options and I am reporting my conclusions below. As of Sep 2012, these are the 12 most popular rackets on Amazon, ordered from (in my judgment) best deal to worst deal. N.B.: I assume that power, control, and maneuverability are equally desirable and so prefer a middle-of-the-road racket, but your preferences may be different.1. Ektelon Air O Blaze (my rating: 3.8 stars) (price as of 9/1/12: $46.89) - This is the racket I ended up buying. It has a standard head size (105 sq inches), a high swingweight (158) meaning more power, and it is slightly head light meaning more control. If this racket were just a bit lighter - about 10-15 grams lighter - it would be perfect. Because of its relatively high weight, it's going to be less maneuverable, and so is not ideal for front-court players who rely on quick reactions.2. Head Intelligence i.165 (3.3 stars) ($66.95 + $7 shipping) - The specs on this racket are, for the most part, quite good, balancing both power and speed, a light weight and a high swingweight. This is, however, a very head-heavy racket, which means you'll get more power but considerably less control.3. Head Ti. 175 XL (3.1 stars) ($65.95) - This does not balance power and control in the way that I would like: its swingweight is too low and it is too head-heavy. I think the Ektelon Air O Blaze is a better racket for a better price.4. Ektelon O3 White (3.1 stars) ($139.00) - Fast, maneuverable, powerful. This is probably a good racket, although I could not find the detailed specs online since racquetball warehouse does not offer this model. My main issue is the price: I believe a perfectly good racket could be had for at least half the price.5. Ektelon O³ Speedport Red (3.1 stars) ($149.00) - This is a light and maneuverable racket, which will be desirable for front-court players who rely on touch and finesse. Not ideal for power players. My biggest issue, again, is the price.6. Head Meanstreak (3.0 stars) ($95.00 + $3 shipping) - This is a powerful racket, and it is relatively light. It has a high swingweight (161) meaning more power, and it is head-heavy, meaning more power. The downside is that it is likely to be harder to control, especially because of the head-heavy part.7. Ektelon PowerRing Freak SS (2.4 stars) ($31.99) - This is too expensive for an old model and for not a particularly good racket. I had this model several years ago and I believe I got it for half the price from Wal-Mart. That said, it was a fine racket and I have no real complaints.8. Head Black Widow 160 (2.4 stars) ($229.95) - This is head's most expensive racket, and it's hard to believe that it's worth it unless you *really* want a super light racquet. A light racket is going to be more desirable for front-court doubles players who need quick maneuverability and rely almost exclusively on control. But this racket is not going to generate a lot of power, even compared to much cheaper models.9. Ektelon Air Response (2.3 stars) ($89.95) - This racket is currently $30 cheaper on racquetballwarehouse.com. But even for $60, I wouldn't highly recommend this racket because it is *very* heavy. A moderately heavy racquet is in the 170-185 range, and this one 225. That's going to slow you down considerably.10. Head Nano Ti.Demon (2.2 stars) ($28.95) - Too expensive for a bottom-shelf racket. You shouldn't pay more than $15 for a racket of this quality.11. Macgregor Economy (1.7 stars) ($15.99) - I would not trust this racket. MacGregor is not a company that specializes in racquetball equipment. They don't even specialize in rackets (racquetball, tennis, squash, or otherwise). If you just want a basic, cheap racket, go to Wal-Mart and get one made by Head, Wilson or Ektelon. Slight preference to Ektelon.12. Macgregor The Collegiate Aluminum (1.6 stars) ($19.99) - Same as the Macgregor Economy review above.

5Great racquet for the price! I love it.
By T. D. Eastman
It is an older model racquet, but is far better than any you can buy at its $50 price. The shock absorber in the handle has saved my arm.

5Great Racquet
By C. D. Pierce
I am fairly new to racquetball but I've tried out a few racquets belonging to friends as well as a few demo racquets my rec center loans out. This racquet is by far the most comfortable. I can play for hours on this racquet and not feel any arm strain later. Also, it simply feels more responsive than many of the racquets my friends use. I am very pleased with my purchase.

3Not An Identical Replacement
By SF Guy
The activated carbon filter pack that comes with this OEM replacement set contains 54% less activated carbon (15 oz, vs 27 oz) than the filter that originally came with the FP-N60CX. The box is also insufficiently rigid enough to protect the filter, so even if the box appears intact, the HEPA filter may be damaged if it's roughly handled.

5A great deal on a brand new Hepa filter
By thebeststuff
This was a great deal on a brand new hepa filter for a Sharp FP-N60CX air cleaner. These hepa filters will actually last for many years, my last one lasted almost 9 years. Once you see the back of the hepa filter begin to turn slightly dark, then it is time to replace it. Before then, just be sure to wash the pre-filter and charcoal filter whenever the filter light turns on. The hepa filter on my big floor standing panasonic air cleaner only lasted one year by comparison. The higher end Sharp's are in a class by themselves.

5Never use another type of Air Filter again!
By Elizabeth Brymer
This is the best air filter out there and does a great job at cleaning the air and allergy stuff. The carbon filter is washable for many times to keep down cost of replacing it all the time. Also the HEPA for me does not last as long but I have a lot of dust because I have baseboard heat. HEPA will last about 2 years in this environment, otherwise, it will last 4 or 5 years.

4good replacement for home owner power washer
By Kevin H. Cadarette
I bought this pump last year to replace the one that failed on my 8hp Generiac pressure washer. This pump is not ceramic like the original, but has already lasted longer than the original unit. It bolted on just fine, I had to get an adapter for one of the fittings, but no big deal. This unit has been a good replacement for a power washer that is used by the neighborhood for washing their house before painting. I don't know if it would hold up for professional, but for us it has been fine. 3 houses done, and it is still working. To powerfull for washing cars though, it took the paint right off my montero bumper, and the labels off my fiberglass ladders.

5Right stem size, easy connect
By Gemini Sasquatch
Be careful with what you are getting yourself into, make sure the harness has the right bolt pattern, and the stem size is correct. They might of been a cheaper option, but this one pushes water good, and is far better than the stock one on my Monsoon w/ a 5hp honda engine. Good luck, if this is the one you need, it works, small and shiny easy to hook up.

4Great for space saving
By Rural Shopper
I was looking for a small table for my narrow kitchen. A friend introduced me to Amazon and she found this table for me! I love it because it folds down on both sides and if I were to have company I just lift the sides up (underneath those sides are wooden sliding boards, two on each side, that holds them up) and there is room. It is easy to assemble, and is great for the price. This picture is definitely not detailed enough.

4A good product but nowhere to go if you have a problem
By Robert J. Newell
This is a great little table for our small condo and it even qualified for free super-saver shipping -- 2nd day air to Hawai`i no less! Despite the sketchy instructions it was easy to build with minimal patience and went together in about half an hour. It is relatively solid if you make sure to pull out the leaf supports *very* firmly to support the leaves when raised. The finish on top, especially on top of the leaves, is a little rough but will likely smooth out with use. The table is a real value, especially in limited spaces, when the leaves can be folded down and the table put against a wall or counter with a chair on each end, then moved out and opened if you have a couple of guests. It's much, much better than the folding card table we replaced with this.*However* if you have a problem ... good luck. Our package was missing a screw. Just a single hinge screw for one of the leaves, but it's still a necessary item for full support. There is no contact information whatsoever anywhere in the package, on the instructions, box, etc. Nothing. No way to call or write and ask the company to just put a screw in an envelope and mail to us. Nearly everything else I've ever assembled had a support number, but not this time.Amazon's only options are to return the unit, or go buy the part somewhere on your own in return for a 10% refund. No way we were going to ship a 56-pound package from Honolulu back to the mainland just to get one missing screw. So we took the 10% refund and had to search for a package of very tiny chipboard screws. Not such a big deal, of course, and the 10% refund is more than fair, but a definite annoyance and a completely unnecessary one (we never did find the right part and had to substitute a gutter screw!).I give four stars for great value and a nice, useful piece of furniture but one star off for the lack of support contact information. (No, couldn't find anything on the internet either.)

5Excellent quality for the price
By John Covele
I buy alot of boxed furniture that requires assembly. I've had good and bad experiences. Fortunately, this was a good experience. This table is very solid and doesn't look cheap at all. Assembly was a breeze. This product exceeded my expectations and I'm very happy with how it looks in my kitchen nook.
