5Great Super Automatic
By Stephen Weissmann
I have had this espresso maker for a week now and it is everything I have wanted in a coffee machine. I have owned 2 other super automatics in the last 5-7 years - a Saeco which cost about half this one and a Jura/Capresso which cost more than twice as much. I think the Magnifica so far is the best of the three for my needs. The Saeco made good coffee, but was messy and difficult to clean. I splurged on the Jura thinking I would like all the electronic control over the process. I liked its automatic cleaning process and thoroughly enjoyed the machine - until it broke. With no user access to its mechanism, I could not repair it.The Magnifica is a perfect compromise, and the compromise is in price only. I don't miss the electronic LCD readout of the Jura one bit. The signal lights of the Magnifica provide the same information. And I actually find the manual adjustments for coffee amount and strength to be much easier to use and change compared to the electronic settings on the Jura. The Magnifica has all the features of the Jura, including the automatic rinse on startup and closeout. The main difference is that the brewing mechanism will need to be cleaned regularly. I actually see that as an advantage since I will have access to it and can maintain it.I have never used the frothing mechanism on any of the machines so I can't draw any conclusions about them. But if you want a machine that automatically brews great coffee with a minimum of fuss, and doesn't cost $2K, this is the machine for you.

5Excellent Reliable Machine = Great Espresso
By John Cecere
This machine, in my opinion, is the best machine for the money. I compared and researched for two months, compared to Saeco, Jura or Solis the Magnifica line is well built and designed to last. I inspected the insides of all the machines and it seems that the advantage to Delonghi's late introduction to the "super-automatic" market was an improved brewing system. The grinder is fast and efficient; the grinds are deposited directly into the brew system for brewing. In other machines, the grinder is far from the brew system, and the grinds are sent through a long tube before getting to the brew system. With ground coffee that sits in the tube, you are not brewing your cup of coffee, but the coffee the person before you requested. That defeats the whole purpose of freshly-brewed espresso. The espresso is perfect on this machine, great color, texture and of course crema. The frothing is a no-brainer; just use a cold stainless steel pitcher with cold milk and you will create rich micro-foam. Make sure you use a large enough pitcher as the milk will double and even triple in volume. As other people have said, the frother might be too good, it would be nice to have some control on the frothing. For simplicity, the frother is very productive. The Magnifica is so easy to clean; the inside of this machine is kept so clean all on its own. Just remove the drip tray and used coffee container to wash, then rinse the compact brew system under hot water. The operation of the machine is a little tricky. READ THE MANUAL!! Many of the problems users encounter can be resolved by going through the manual. The espresso comes out hot, but with such a small amount of liquid (1-2 oz) in a cold cup, it will definitely cool down. Warm up the brew system by pressing the Decalcification button once before brewing, this will release some hot water. Also warm up your cups!! This is a must for any espresso machine. Also, if you need to brew again after frothing it will take some time to cool down the machine to the proper temperature for brewing. But as the user manual states, release some hot water through the frother while waiting for the brew lights to stop flashing. It takes me only 10-15 seconds to go from frothing to brewing again.Anyways, my only dilemma now is trying to find the right blend of beans. After all the espresso doses I have had, I am starting to get very picky. The Magnifica comes with a can of Illy, and I find myself comparing every other blend to Illy, it is that good. But, I can't afford to spend $16 (CAN$) per can, which is more than triple the cost of other brands. I recommend finding a local roaster and trying their fresh blends. My research included contacting two previous Magnifica reviewers that have had the machine for over a year now. They both stood by their 5-star reviews, and were completely satisfied with their machines. Thanks for your responses, Stephen and James. If you are looking for a reliable good quality espresso machine, the Magnifica EAM3200 can deliver.UPDATE (AUG. 5, 2008):ALMOST 3 YEARS NOW AND STILL WORKING JUST AS NEW. I HAVE NO REGRETS AND WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR AN AUTOMATIC MACHINE. FRESH COFFEE BEANS IS A MUST, AND ONLY THEN CAN YOU ENJOY THIS MACHINE TO ITS FULLEST. ONLY CON IS THE GRINDER SETTINGS, I DON'T SEE MUCH DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ANY OF THE SETTINGS, SO TRYING TO MAKE A STRONGER ESPRESSO WITH CERTAIN BEANS IS DIFFICULT.5 STARS AND HOLDING STRONG!!!

5High quality unit, affordable price, great espresso
By S. Armato
This was the best price point I could find for a super-automatic espresso maker. It was also among the most highly rated by other customers. The unit has been great! I've had it for 4 months. My friends are always amazed by the quality of the espresso and they all want one of these machines too, now.A few tips:- DeLonghi does a factory test to make sure everything works right, so don't be surprised if you open the package and see a drop or two of water in the water reservoir and/or a few coffee grinds.- The frothing wand doesn't swing out as far as I would like (it extends about 1.5" away from the unit, so you need to buy a milk frothing pitcher with a relatively small diameter so you can move the frother around in the pitcher with ease. I bought a 20oz pitcher (so I could froth enough for 2 lattes at a time) with about a 4" diameter and it's a bit of a challenge moving the frother around evenly.- milk frothing takes some getting used to -- buy a gallon of milk and just practice.- since the unit takes both whole beans and pre-ground, it's easy to switch between decaf and regular by just keeping pre-ground decaf on-hand and regular whole beans (or vice versa :-) ).April 2011 update - 5.25 years later the machine works great. Two observations: 1) on-off knob broke. it is plastic. steamer cannot function now so I need to buy a new handle. appears to be easy to replace once I source the part - $5 or so. The steamer seems to leak a little water now when making espresso. doesn't seem to affect its operation though.

5Stunning
By Gadgester
Another member of Sharp's unbeatable LCD TV family:1. Great LCD panel: 32" diagonal, vivid colors, stunning clarity, very good black-level quality, no dead pixels (cheaper brands often have dead pixels)2. Great styling: looks absolutely beautiful, in the living room or bedroom or your fancy bathroom3. Lots of inputs: digital inputs, component inputs, PC input. HDTV tuner is not built-in, though, so you'll need a separate HDTV tuner, which is fine since you likely need to get an HDTV cable or satellite service like VOOM anyway4. Simplicity: the set-top connector box hides all the wires5. Easy to set up and useBTW, the "32GD4U" model (with a D) has a built-in HDTV tuner, but it's also hundreds more. This present model (without the HDTV tuner) is definitely the better value.

5incredible picture, tons of connections
By Walter J. Davis
I have had this TV for about a month. I love the picture. Many adjustment modes, 2 digital inputs on the av box(a separate box that houses all connections) and a very easy remote to learn. The picture is great for hi-def TV and progressive scan DVD. It has a real depth to the picture. I have not noticed any artifact on DVD or sports. This TV also appears much bigger to people than 32 inches(38 with speakers). Digital cable or Direct Tv are a a must have, along with a progressive scan or HDMI/DVI Dvd player. Ideally the HDMI/DVI player for the best Dvd playback.Update 1/10/06I have had the set over a year, and 3 of my pals with expensive plasma's have bought this as a "second set." Great clear, eyepopping picture from HD sources. The separate box has worked well. I can plug all kinds of things into it without any trouble. Many LCD's are catching up to Sharp, but why kick a winner! Even if you do not choose this LCD, spend the extra for a good name brand. I have seen so many second tier LCD's that artifact during fast motion, push certain color ranges(calibrate people!) and have other annoying faults that pop up. Sharp, Sony, LG, are LCD's I have personally seen in a home setting and looked great. Not to say others are bad, but I only list Brands I have seen in home.

5Thumbs up
By DR Moussey
Please, see my review of the 30 inch model, for details on the Aquos family of Lcd Tv sets. The 32 inch actually looks signficantly bigger than the 30 inch model. Is it worth the extra money? I'm not sure, but Sharp's Aquos line is without doubt the best. My belief is, if you are going to spend a lot of money, might as well get the best so you don't disappointed.

4Very Nice but Very Pricey
By Matthew M
The TV was made in Japan with an attractive design, quality appearance and a nice remote. Without question it is a nice TV, but I am just not convinced it is a nice value. One of my fears about LCD was laid to rest: the TV appeared bright and clear in various light. Its image easily equals that of a traditional tube TV. However, it took more adjustment of the picture settings (i.e. contrast, brightness, etc.) than with a regular TV.Panasonic included many nice features, including closed-captioning appearing when the TV is muted, customized channel labeling, and a comprehensive selection of connectors on the back and side. The oval-shaped stand has a footprint that is bigger than some other types of stands, but the TV is remarkably light and compact. The speakers are placed at the bottom of the screen rather than the sides, which is a nice design if you are trying to take up as little shelf, table or counter space as possible.I plugged into a progressive-scan DVD player both this LCD TV (via component video cable) and a $150 Sylvania flat tube TV (via S-video cable) and watched them side by side. The blacks looked better on the Panasonic LCD and the picture was sharper. However, the sharpness sometimes seemed pixely and I questioned whether the improvement from standard definition (480i) to enhanced definition (480p) is worth an investment of many hundreds of dollars when widespread use of high definition and TV's with more features, such as wireless connections to computers or streaming sound and video directly from a DSL modem are just around the corner. (Search out information about Streamium from Philips for example.)After comparing the two TV's side by side, I concluded the Panasonic LCD picture was about 25% better than the low end Sylvania but cost more than 500% more. Therefore, I recommend it to people who are willing to pay a hefty premium for a nice standard TV because they must have a flat screen. If, however, you have the space, then I suggest sticking with a nice tube TV for a few more years (or at least months). I decided to return the LCD TV and remain in the 20th century a little while longer. This desirable TV, unfortunately, is not nice enough to justify a price this high.

5Very good, generously sized picture in a compact package
By Keith Hermiz
We wanted to put a wall mounted television in our kitchen. That drove a requirement for a LCD. Being that it was unlikely we would watch DVD or premium cable channels there a standard 4:3 format was acceptable and for aesthetic reasons was even deisrable. After checking out the television reviews from a recognized consumer organization we arrived at the Panasonic.Having used LCD monitors for ages we had reasonable expectations of the picture quality and it has certainly met or exceeded them. Panasonic touts the viewing angle and our experience supports their claims. Sound quality is very good and the remote/controls are intuitive. It is smart looking with modern and clean lines. The 20" screen size is awesome and such a generous viewing area would be impossible with a traditional (soon to be extinct) CRT based TV. We are exceptionally pleased. We paired it up with a Sanus VM2 VisionMount flat-panel TV wallmount with extension and 2-way articulation. The installation on that mount went without a hitch although the weight of the unit seems to challenge the tilt control.

5Excellent Value--Super Television
By D. Brown
Just got this last week here from Amazon. Price was an astounding amount lower than the MSRP for a brand new unit shipped from Amazon distributing. I compared this to various Sharp Aquos 20" models and chose this because in side by side comparison I could not see any difference and the Panasonic has a REAL stand vs. a cheap easel from Sharp in the box. This set has a myriad of adjustments as you would expect and also has enough inputs to work with any setup including component inputs. Sound quality is surprisingly good from the built in speakers and the unit itself is compact to fit in a cabinet or mount unobtrusively. I would prefer a widescreen, but for this application I needed a 4:3 set and found nothing better--In price or surprisingly in picture quality.

5Rob's Batmobile review
By Rob
This Batmobile was a Toys-R-Us exclusive when it came out back in 2000. I bought it at Toys-R-Us and was VERY pleased with the box art, logos and information provided on the outside of the box. A small hole on the outside far right of the box allowed you to test the bat-communicator action for yourself by pressing the button and watching batman's mouth move as he spoke several different phrases. This was a strong factor in my decision to buy this highly collectible item. I think it retailed for something like 50.00 when I bought it. (cant remember) The see-thru design of the hood (which opens btw) allows a sneak-peek-view of the awesomely-detailed turbine engine inside which also rotates. The cockpit removes to reveal some really sweet details of the console and dash gadgets. All-in-all a VERY sleek-looking collectible as far as 1:18th scale batmobiles go!Albeit I did give this car only two stars on it's durability, it is because this batmobile was meant for collecting and not so much for play. I highly recommend snagging one of these for your collection!
