5Great Knife!
By D. Ripp
This was purchased as I continue to build a better quality knife set. This knife does not disappoint. I love the ergos of the handle, and the weight seems really nice. And it is plenty sharp, I have used it for splitting chicken breasts and pork chops for stuffing and it works great. Love it!

5Great Boning Knife
By Edward R. Abramson
Outstanding balance and feel to this knife. I use it to find and separate the joints of the legs and wings when carving Turkey and chickens. It does a great job and is indicative of the quality of Wusthof knives. Highly recommended.

4Great weight, balance, and handle.
By TheAbsrd
This is an excellent knife: Hefty without being heavy, with perfect balance and a perfect handle, and perfect blade shape. It has good steel, good finishing, and a good edge. It’s only disadvantage is that it has a full bolster. There are knives with better steel, finishing, edges, and looks, but the GP2 shines where it really matters: weight, balance, and handle comfort.I have used many of the knives on the market (Forschner, F. Dick, and Messermeister industrial knives, MACs, Messermeister San Moritz, Henckel 4 and 5 star, Chefs Choice Trizor, Global classic and forged, Shun classic, TojiroDP, Wusthof Classic, GP, Cordon Bleu, and Culinar, even the ratty but cheap Farberware Pro Forged and Stainless). If I only owned 1 knife, it would be a toss-up between this and my 10" Forschner Fibrox. It doesn't get 5 stars because it lacks some of the features that are increasingly standard on a knife in this price range, but there is no knife on the market in this price range that I think garners 5 stars. The Messermeister has better steel, perfect finishing and modern features, but is too heavy and has bad balance. The Shun is pretty and has a perfect blade but mediocre balance and a tiny, straight, round handle. Globals are nice if you have small hands, but are overpriced and have been made obsolete by MAC, Shun, Tojiro, and a half dozen other Japanese manufacturers becoming available in the US. Forschners are cheap, flawlessly balanced, perform beautifully, and are an unbeatable value, but they're light, thin, look cheap, and aren't going to last like a high end knife. The MAC Superior series is amazing, but has a very limited selection of shapes and this isn't one of them. Their Ultimate Series Tungsten steel 10” chef is good, but twice the price of the Grand Prix2. You just have to decide what features matter to you and choose accordingly. Do not buy a knife unless you have held it in your hand, and preferably used it. Balance and comfort are highly subjective. If you only own 1 knife, it should be a 10” chef. The 8” chef’s knife is the most common size, but the 10” is usually preferred by professionals and experienced home cooks. Most block sets include the cheapest knives that can still function for most jobs, which is why sets usually include 8” chef’s knifes, 8” bread knives, and 8” slicers, even though 10” knives usually do a better job. For chef’s knives, the extra two inches make tip-work a little less precise, but have many advantages. The longer blade means easier cutting since it gives more leverage and weight. More importantly, the two inches are essentially added between the end of the blade and the bolster. This means that the front 8” of the 10” perform all the functions of an 8” knife, plus the extra two inches create a much longer straight area near the handle, which gives a 10” knife the same slicing length as a santoku. This means the 10” chef does everything both these knives do, and usually does it better. The reason santokus are popular among housewives and not professional chefs is that housewives compare the santoku to the curved 8” blade. Professionals are usually trained with 10” knives, so they see the santoku as a crippled 10” knife which is of value only to people who don’t have the knife skills to use the more versatile and capable 10”. These days, you can acquire knife skills by going online, reading through a free tutorial, and practicing for a few hours, so a 10” is a good choice for anyone who likes to cook.1) This knife has the flawless balance that Wusthof is famous for (the balance point is precisely on the working fingers when using a pinch grip). Of the Wusthofs, it has the most comfortable and dependable handle. It won’t slip when wet or greasy like stainless steel, and is more comfortable and durable than the two-part riveted handles.2) This knife is hefty, without being heavy. It's not as light as an industrial or a Japanese knife (Global, Shun, etc), but not as heavy as a Chefs Choice or a Messermeister. Unlike a Japanese or industrial knife, is has the classic graduated spine that is thick near the handle and tapers continuously to a thin point, allowing different parts of the blade to perform different functions. If you want a heavy knife with a graduated, thicker spine with point heavy balance, buy the Messermeister San Moritz. If you want a light knife with a thin spine, buy the Forschner Fibrox, Shun, Global, or Wusthof Cordon Bleu, depending on your price range and sense of aesthetics.3) At 1-7/8" wide, its blade is a little narrower than most 10" chef knives. This makes it lighter and gives it a sharper point, but can be a detriment when working on vegetables. If you want a wide-bladed knife, buy the Messermeister or the 10” Chefs Choice Trizor. The 10” Trizor is a great knife, but has been doomed to obscurity because all knife reviews feature the 8” chef, and the 8” Trizor chef has several deficiencies that the 10” mostly remedies. Because of the Grand Prix’s narrower blade, the natural partner to this knife is a 7" light Chinese cleaver, which excels at all the things the GP is weak at, but is weak at all the things the GP excels at.4) This knife leaves the factory with a 20 degree edge, which is not as sharp as the 15 degree edges on the Wusthof Cordon Bleu, Messermeister, or Japanese knives. The edge out of the box is irrelevant though, since it won't last and is easily changed. This knife will take a 15 degree edge and hold it well; the steel is average for a good knife, so it won't hold up as long as a Tungsten or Vanadium steel knife, but that's a small concern unless you're a professional. For the average home user, this means spending 2 minutes every three months, instead of every six. If you don't know how to use a stone, buy a Spyderco Sharpmaker; it comes with instructions, its cheaper than an electric, takes up less space, and sharpens smooth or serrated knives, plus any other pointy metal thing you might own.5) The only problem with this knife is the full bolster. Full bolsters are essentially obsolete, and quickly being replaced with short bolsters (Shun, Messermeister, Chefs Choice) or no bolster (Global) knives. There are three problems with the full bolster: it makes sharpening more difficult, prevents you from using the full length of the blade, and is uncomfortable on the index finger when using a pinch grip. This problem can only be remedied attractively with a well-equipped bench grinder, which most people don’t have and would rather not use on a $100 knife.Wusthof doesn't make a perfect knife line. The Grand Prix2 is the pinnacle of the classic German style. The Cordon Bleu is a nice modern style knife. If the Grand Prix2 had the Cordon Bleu bolster and finishing, and a VG-10 blade, it would definitely be a 5 star knife. Until then, only 4 stars, but a solid recommendation.

5Best Knife I've Ever Used
By Rachel Venezia
This is, without exaggeration, the greatest knife ever made. I have some decent enough knives that I've used before (Sabatier), but this makes my other chef's knife look like an idiot. It is so effortless to use, and such a pleasure. Seriously, your food will practically cut itself with this knife. Your vegetables will part themselves, and the fat will slice itself away from your meats. I've always loved chopping food, ever since I learned how, but this raises the act from an enjoyable necessity past hobby and into the realm of culinary bliss.

4Wicked beauty
By Circle_of_confusion
Versatile, quick, will pretty easily manage many of the tasks of paring and fillet knives, as well as limited range chef work. Almost dangerous in its sharpness and deftness...almost cut myself a few times, after being lulled into rather reckless technique by a "pointless" santoku. If you do cabbage, escarole, squash, and other rather big items, an 8-10 inch knife is still necessary.Balance, design, fit and finish,...a dream. Oh, I forgot: metallurgy...wow.

4Super Slicer, perfect for bread
By dc
The Grand Prix II Super Slicer is one of the top knives for bread. Instead of the more common serrated edge, this knife offers a scalloped edge similar to other top rated bread knives (MAC and Tojiro ITK). The scalloped edge is gentler on bread, while still offering enough bite to cut through hard crusts. This should easily be a 5 star knife. However, Amazon gets docked 1 star for sending a knife that had blunted edges. The knife had to be sharpened before its full potential could be reached.

This knife slices bread perfectly, without crushing or crumbling. It is also useful to slice other foodstuffs that regular bread knives are not fit to cut. I recommend it without reservation.

5great product from excellent source
By traillf
Bought this knife from amazon 2 years ago. It has never lost its edge and rarely needs anything more than a few passes on the steel. This is a top quality product which my wife (a semi-professional cook) uses constantly - even when I think a smaller knife would do. I/we can recommend it without reservation.

5Buttah
By Average Joe
Finally, I've found my slicing knife. I have been looking for a long, thin slicing knife for slicing meat and poultry and for filleting and skinning fish and this is it. After being horribly disappointed with Kerhsaw's "Kerhsaw Precision Forged Stainless Steel 8-Inch Slicing Knife" and shopping Victorinox, Dexter (Made in China, very sad for the American company...) and whatever else happened to catch my eye while I was out and about, I found a great deal on this knife at my local restaurant supply store. Fit and finish on this knife are top notch and it came super-sharp out of the box. It's a forged blade, a bit thin and flexible and does the job nicely. It feels good in the hand, it has a nice shaped handle and cuts whatever you have like buttah with a long, smooth stroke. You could probably also use it as a sword in an emergency if you happened to misplace your katana and needed to fight off some ninjas, or Dolph Lundgren.People - If you are looking to buy something like a knife, spend as much as you can afford to get good gear and don't waste your money on crap. That way, you only have to buy it once. I picked this up for quite a bit less than Amazon's price, but even at $100.00, over the course of a lifetime, the cost is next to nothing. My kids or grand-kids will be arguing over who gets this thing.Wusthof - Made in Germany, not China (Not USA either - thanks Kershaw and Dexter...) Well crafted, beautiful and does the job it was made to do exceedingly well.

4Good, not great...
By C. Dickerson
You can find this tv at Costco for $250, which is an incredible price for a tv of this caliber... BUT, beware, unlike mentioned before, the quality is nowhere near HD, but if you're looking for a cheap, decent, "big" tv, then look no further. I'm pleased with mine except for the fact that it isn't HD ready, which I knew when I bought it, so that's my fault. If you are going to be watching a lot of DVD's as opposed to cable tv, then this tv is perfect; no matter if you have the color temperature setting at low or high.*EDIT*****I didn't know this TV came with component cable inputs. This means that this TV is much more deserving of 6 stars, rather than only 5. I've used the S-Video plug-in more times than my actual LCD monitor because it is almost like built-in anti-aliasing. Crystal clear picture that makes you just say, "wow." All my friends are jealous that this TV is part of my dorm room and they all come over to watch movies on it. It's that good.

5ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC
By M. M. Jackson
The previous reviewer with the bad picture quality, etc. simply MUST have gotten a bad unit, because ours is absolutely FANTASTIC.The picture approaches HDTV in clarity and resolution, the color purity, saturation, and subtle beauty is stellar and the component video signal in is nothing short of a revelation, only limited by it's standard-def resolution.Reflection side-to-side is MINIMAL. Film grain is often evident, for example, even though this is standard-definition.I would easily go so far as to say that this unit pushes standard-definition resolution to it's absolute max in terms of performance and all other metrics above. You honestly owe yourself a good, in-person demo of this unit, it is stellar. If this TV ever broke, I'd absolutely buy it again.

5Great TV for its price
By K. J. Fleming
Like previous reviewers have said, this TV can't match HD. But I also agree that the only difference in picture quality between this and HD is a slight increase in resolution, this has one of the clearest non-HD displays I've ever seen. If you want to make the most of this TV, hook up your DVD player through either the S-video or the component video (preferably) and look at how vibrant and rich the colors are and how sharp the picture itself is.

5Fun playset
By K. Kimberland
I bought this for my son a couple of years ago, when he was going through his Rudolph phase. He collected everything we could find that was Rudolph-themed, which was not easy as there aren't many playsets in existence. The only bad thing about this is that it doesn't fold up for storage, so it takes up quite a bit of room. It has quite a few small pieces, but he has kept up with all of them.

3Solar Cascade Fountain
By W. N. Millage
We like the fountain. It is very attractive. There is one problem. The solar panel does not store energy like a solar light. If a cloud drifts under the sun it stops immediatly. It only works if and when the sun is shining brightly on the panel.

4Good and bad points for this fountain
By Joanna Daneman
Good points: The cascade makes a lot of water noise and is very pretty in the sun.Bad points: The clay gets gooped up with algae (from birds' beaks, then it grows in the basins. Hard to clean.) The pots have to be aimed just so or they drip out. The solar works, haha, only in the sun. But you can put this on an ac adapter and plug in if you have a wall outlet. We do.It sits low; we put ours in an abandoned birdbath stand and like it as a bird-bath fountain sort of decor for the garden. I'd reccomend you put this on something high unless you have a low rock garden that wants a low fountain.

By Michael E. Smith
The product was shipped promptly. It was well packed with no damage. The fountain was easy to set-up, and allows for multiple mounting options. It has been running several hours every day since we received it and is already attracting birds and frogs to the yard.
