4Easy assembly, but it does require some drilling/screwing into the ceiling
By E. Rosoff
So far I really like this. The assembly was simple, and it wasn't too difficult to do alone, although an additional person would have been useful at times.Perhaps I didn't read carefully enough, but I was under the impression that this would not require any drilling or screws. This is my preference as I want it to be semi-portable. In addition, I live in an apartment and would like to minimize drilling. In any case, this does require two screws to attach it to the ceiling. This was a particular problem for me because my ceiling is not easily drilled into. At the moment I have it secured with heavy duty adhesive strips and tension. It seems to be doing ok at the moment.Beyond this somewhat minor issue, this is an excellent, sturdy, visually appealing, and practical bike storage device.

5Modern Easy Vertical Bike Storage
By Eco Mama's Guide To Living Green
This is a floor to ceiling rack that uses tension to hold everything up--no bolting into the ceiling necessary as another reviewer stated. There is padding on either end of the main structure to protect floors and ceilings. It's perfect for apartment dwellers, and everyone who would prefer not to put holes in the ceiling and will accommodate 7-11 ft. high ceilings. It has a very small footprint and will keep those bikes up and out of the way while looking great. The body of the rack is heavy duty airplane grade aluminum and works fine indoors or on balconies, carports, garages or basements. If it will be exposed to weather elements, say stored outside on a covered porch, it is recommended that you occasionally apply some WD-40 to the nuts and bolts to extend their life as they are the most vulnerable parts, which the company is happy to replace when and if needed. The arms are carbon steel coated with vinyl--strong but gentle on bikes. The rack is built to last and something you buy once.Set up is pretty straight-forward. On the box it says it takes minutes, and now that I have done it, yes, I can see it taking minutes, but for the first time you might want to allow a good half hour. Should you run into any problems, Gear Up has an extremely helpful and friendly staff that will walk you through it over the phone. For odd shaped bikes, there are adapters that you can get that will facilitate mounting the bike. I had this issue with my commuter-cruiser hybrid, but with the adapter bar, it fits fine. You can purchase extra arms to mount additional bikes up to 200lbs, though I think aesthetically, two is really ideal. It is a good looking design that would match many different styles, I think it has an industrial modern look and I can see it in a variety of settings. I really like this for use indoors--there's something fun about seeing your bike in the house.

3Pretty wiggly if you don't crank the floor screws to the point of giving yourself hemorrhoids
By Otterinaround
This thing has play and not the 1/4 inch it's a bit play but movement in the 3-4 inch section as I load up my bicycles. I have quite a bit of money invested in my bikes and having the thing crash once when I loaded my less expensive bike on the lower section of the stand nearly sent me to hospital with fright. Ok so I have to crank the foot screws tighter... As I took to the screws on the floor with a crescent wrench and a pipe to extend the lever arm I was amazed at how close to crushing the drywall I came. I've put both bikes up and wiggled the center section in and out with that 3-4 inch play I have discussed. I'm sure loading and unloading the bikes during riding season will wiggle the stand despite my Herculean attempts. With everything bolted down to the point where anything more will strip the screws now all that is left is the passage of time...
