3You get what you pay for
By Pcfixer
Overall, for 30 bucks, this isn't a bad mount, but it wasn't what I was expecting from the images. For the good, it seems pretty sturdy, and will do what it's meant to do, but that's about it. First, this mount does not freely articulate. What appears to be a joint at the bottom of the mount arm is just a decorative cover. Under the cover is a grouping of screw holes that allow you to fix the arm in a variety of positions. There are 4 allen head screws that hold the arm in place. In order to elevate or lower the arm, you would have to remove the cover and those screws, and even then, there's only about 4 or 5 settings, so it's not limitless. The head of the mount where the monitor mounts however, does freely articulate up/down, side to side, and allows for screen rotation. Also the arm while it doesn't adjust up and down freely, does swivel as you might expect. The next bit that's a little misleading is the wall mount option. Yes, it can be mounted to a wall, but there's no hardware included for that. The wall mount is accomplished by leaving off the clamps used for desk mounting, and using the holes provided for that part to attach the arm to the wall. The problem is the holes are about 3/8" in diameter, so you will need pretty large lag bolts if you want to use them for that. I simply drilled 2 smaller holes in bracket and used 3" drywall screws, which worked perfectly. But if you aren't prepared to do a bit of modification to the mount to facilitate wall mounting, you'll need some pretty big screws or lag bolts.I rated it a 3 mainly because I think there's some intentional misleading in the design at the bottom to make you think it raises and lowers freely, and that wall mounting isn't quite as easy as they may like you to think. Aside from that it will certainly do its job, and will do what I needed it for. But if you need something with full articulation and ready adjustment, this one probably isn't for you.

3An alright product but...
By Jamie Fickes
The product I received is black with allen-wrench tighteners and screws with covers. Sure, the monitor pivots all the way around, but you cannot raise and lower the monitor that much and you have to chose a fixed position. I chose this for the price alone, as all other monitor arms are a bit more expensive. if you are looking for full customization, look elsewhere. This is alright if you are just looking for a monitor arm to get the monitor off your desk. I use it for my 12WX cintiq.

4Very solid for the money... but not for shallow areas
By Mark E. Hopkins
I ordered this to mount a 22" LCD monitor on our counter 'island' near the dining room and kitchen, and for the money, is surprisingly solid and works VERY well. However, it's bulk protrudes the monitor 4-5" out from the back mounting edge of the counter. Not a flaw, just a note that this isn't for shallow work areas.Only complaint about the product itself is that the first joint at the base is FIXED, meaning you select the angle of the main arm with 4 bolts (unlike what the picture shows) and it does not move after that.Movement of the other joints is smooth and solid. While this unit won't work for what I originally bought it for, it will work in another area. I have purchased an actual wall mount that will allow the monitor to sit nearly flush against the edge of the counter. If you have a large surface (depth) area, this is a very solid stand, being able to clamp OR screw into the backside of your mounting surface.
