5The AVR-3805
By Paul Bozza
I've had this receiver for two weeks now and I can't stop listening to my music !! I've just started my master plan off using this receiver and I'm glad I did. I've got seven older speakers hooked up to this and this receiver makes them sound like $10,000 speakers. To keep this review short, you won't be disappointed buying this receiver if you're looking to start of in the mid range of a home theatre project. Yes, it is complicated setting up the receiver but, that is to be expected. It is after all, a very capable receiver. Enjoy !!!

5Denon AVR-3805 Receiver
By anonymous
I have had this Denon AVR-3805 receiver for several full months now, and I can say that it is an excellent receiver. It has great sound quality, is very versatile, and is also of very good quality, meaning it has a very sturdy build. It should last the dedicated home theater entertainment system fan a long time and provide him and his family much enjoyment for many years to come. Although the manual is long, and at times complex, and it will probably take a while to read and to digest it in order to fully learn how to use the receiver's full capabilities, that is only what is to be expected from such a deep, complex, and capable machine. And if a simpler product is needed, then one should buy a cheaper one, although then the product would not be as good in sound quality. The AVR-3805 has garnered good reviews all over the Internet, including from some of the top professional consumer hifi electronics websites on the Internet, and I can also say fully from personal experience from it, that most of the reviewers are correct in saying that it is an excellent machine, and in trying to give you an overall impression about it, I can honestly say that I have tried to be fair and honest in my review, although I have not gone into so many details, because with this receiver there are so many specific features and highlights and much has been said by so many other people about it already, but suffice to say that it is an excellent receiver overall. I usually do not post reviews, but I have noticed a disturbing trend with many of the reviews of home theater electronics over the Internet however, and that is there seems to be a disturbing trend by many consumer reviewers towards deliberately posting bad reviews and downgrading products from Asian companies in particular, especially about individual products that usually get a high rating by professional reviewers and also by regular consumers, and also about products from companies that are usually highly regarded in the industry, such as Denon or Sony. These comments are usually very cleverly veiled and disguised as objective reviews and critiques but then usually expose themselves as what they truly are because then they are usually capped off by some suspicious screennames such as "Woody" or some name like that. The comments are usually cleverly veiled with an offsetting comment or a covering that obscures it in order so that people do not figure out what they are doing openly, so that they won't be punished, and so that they can trick people into thinking that their comment is a genuine opinion, or in the best case scenario genuine fact. Also, some of the posts have very suspicious comments in them that don't sound genuine, such as a quote that I read on the Internet that said "what's (chairman of Denon) going to come up with next, a $5000 DVD player that weighs 40 lbs. and plays like a $50 dollar DVD player from China?" That comment did not seem to be fair or objective to me and the poster did not genuinely seem to have a good or honest motivation to say that, only to downgrade the product when so many other consumer reviewers had rated it so highly, and so I am saying this to advise you to take some of these negative comments that you read on the Internet, (and even some of the positive ones), with a grain of salt, because there is obviously a racial motive involved in some of these comments, and people have some other motive in mind in saying these things other than telling the truth about the product. In my own opinion, I try to be fair and not to be prejudiced for or against anyone when I judge, and then that will help me to do what's right and to judge rightly and to also see the truth more clearly, especially when I am doing this to try to help other people form a fair, honest, and balanced, viewpoint about something for themselves. I also try to judge each product as it is individually on its own merits, although the reputation of the company, its "good name" does count to me as well. I find it disturbing that, while looking at the consumer reviews of many home theater electronics, that I have begun noticing these types of comments around the Internet on more and more of these consumer review websites. Some of these people are "trolls", people who post malicious comments posing as others just in order to trick people into doing what they want and who obviously have some other agenda on their minds than giving a fair, decent, and impartial, view of the situation. This kind of peeves me, I am not going to spend $1500 dollars of my hard-earned money on a product that only seemed better than it really was because some guy wanted to promote his own racial or national agenda, and possibly miss out on the product that is really good just because I was fooled into thinking that it was bad just because someone made a false post about it just to hurt other people. I mean if the American company's product is good then I'll buy the American one, and if the Asian or other foreign company's product is good, then I'll buy that one also. If each dollar is a vote, then by buying the company's product that is a genuinely good product, then you are voting for the company and rewarding the company that produces a genuinely better product and urging them to produce more of the same quality product and to continue to do the same degree of work. And also by not buying the products of companies that have worse products, then you are spurring the companes whose products are not as popular with consumers and to change their ways and to improve the products that they make so that people will want to buy them, and so that they become popular with customers, thus making it better for everyone. Yes,I believe that patriotism is good, but only to the point where it does not become destructive to others, and not when you begin openly wronging other people like I am starting to see happen more and more on the Internet. I mean, forgive me for going off on a soapbox like that for a while, but it just makes it one step harder for me to see the truth as to which is the better product that I should buy when other people are making false and misleading posts like that for their own objectives, especially when I am going to make a big-money purchase that is over several hundred dollars, and then to have to go back and forth visiting all of these review websites, and then to be almost sure but not quite sure, because you have to agonize over the one or two reviews whose reviews you think are false or have questionable motives. Although it is wrong to assume without knowing for sure that people are making false posts for the reasons that I mentioned before and to possibly be cynical about them, some of the behavior that I see on the Internet has made me suspicious, and you see more and more of it lately, so I hope you take my advice for what it's worth. And for those of you who think that I am just defending the Denon AVR-3805, then I suggest that you look at the reviews of it on the Internet, I think that a lot of people are defending the Denon AVR-3805. Besides, I am not so much quite defending Denon, as I am defending anyone who does a good quality job, does it well, and is proven to be a creative innovator. This particular receiver, the AVR-3805 got good reviews all over the Internet, both from professional reviewers and from individual consumer reviewers all over the Internet, what more can I say, I don't need to defend this Denon, I think the reviews speak for themselves. The proof is in the pudding,as they say. But my advice for any of you who are seriously looking for any reviews of any hifi consumer electronics, there are several good websites along with this one that I would suggest to you, such as "audioreview.com", as well as "ecoustics.com". Ecoustics in particular has an excellent compilation of professional reviews from all over the Web. Well, I hope my review has been helpful to you, may you all make wise decisions. Good luck to you.
