5Does exactly what it's supposed to do!

Just so you know, I am a middle aged woman who needs visual alert for the doorbell.I previously purchased Heath Zenith SL-6144-A Wireless Plug-In Door Chime Kit Flashing Light Perfect For Hearing Impaired. It came with a strobe light plus a doorbell you had to install. I wasn't crazy about installing a doorbell as I already have one but for less than fifty dollars I figured I'd give it a try. I plugged it on the wall and turned my back to it. During the afternoon, I could not see the strobe light at all. I expected the strobe light to alert me like a flashing camera does. It didn't. Disappointed I took it back to the store.I shopped around to find something that will work with my EXISTING doorbell and to use my own lamp. There are so many products that make you install their doorbell in order for their system to work. I think it's ridiculous. I already have one! (if you live in an apartment, you don't have that option anyway) I found this product! It said it works with your existing doorbell or you can install one that they provide as well. It can be wired or not wired. I thought perfect. Let me try it.I used the wired method: Using my existing doorbell, I wired the "doorbell" onto my doorbell chime. It was an easy process. I did this myself. I put the "doorbell" on top of the chime rather than hang it on the wall next to it. They provide you tools to hang the doorbell next to it OR use it as a doorbell outside if you don't have one. Then I plugged in the signaler elsewhere in room with a lamp plugged onto it. Rang the doorbell and bingo the light flashed just like the doorbell sound would. Few flashes in a row. Can't miss it. It's perfect. I'm really happy with it. It only comes with one box to plug a lamp into it. I ordered an additional receiver so I could use it in another room as well. The not wired way is for you to install the doorbell outside. That's it. Plug in the signaler and lamp and you're ready to go! No wiring needed.Excellent product and is highly recommended!! Well worth the price and it's nice looking, sturdy and well made.
