LOVE THIS CAGE BUT I THINK MY BIRDS LOVE IT MORE

I've had this cage for about two months now. I have two parakeets and they LOVE this cage. I am only knocking this down a star because It was a pain to assemble and after a long frustrating attempt of putting the cage together, I have never able to attach the chimney fully. I had an escape parakeet for two days where I couldn't figure out how she was escaping until I discovered that she was tiny enough to escape through the space where the chimney was supposed to be. But I was able to block it up with a lot of thick string.Also, the two parakeets have an obsession over the chimney. Whenever they sit outside the cage, they will jump on the chimney and just stare down inside the chimney for so long to where I've actually caught myself staring down the chimney because they got me so convinced there's something exciting going on down there! One parakeet will also continually climb into the little window thing attached on the right side but she doesn't get hurt or stuck inside of it.Overall, the cage is the best quality bird cage I've ever had... besides the other feathrstone heights cage I have (Cape Cod Featherstone cage for my parrotlet- my fave cage of the two). There's no cheap plastic in this cage and the birds seem a lot happier.

If you want to have birds, having a nice cage is a wonderful thing. And this cage is really cute. I did take off the attachments as I found they just collected dust and feathers and were nearly impossible to clean. Once detached, the area where the chimney was came loose and the bird kept getting out until I discovered how. That was an easy fix by attaching a toy with a clamp to keep it closed. The cage does not have handles to move it. You must hold it from the bottom. I like to move my birds outside during nice weather to the back porch, and this cage opens at the top so you need to be very careful with it. Lots of room for 2 parakeets or 1 (maybe 2) cockateils. My birds figured out how to open the "front" door. It's not a slide up, it's hooked in place and if you push that up, the door will come off. So a few twist ties were added to solve that problem. My only complaint (which is more about the birds than the cage) is that birds are messy and when you add the fabric seed guards it ruins the appeal of this cage. But with parakeets you will have seed EVERYWHERE if you don't do that. The dimentions of 18X18 make it hard to find a stand or seed guard that fit it exactly, but that is probably true for other cages as well. I just wish I could get a nice wheeled stand for it, but in the 3 years I have had the cage, I've yet to find one that fits. I would recommend the cage, just be aware it has multiple openings and can't be hung. It must be on a stand or table.

too cute a la Victorian!

Easy to assemble and just adorable to look at....my son loved it and the Finches we that moved in love it as well.
