Easy installation and clean sound

My house is pre-wired for 10 zones and all of the wires run to one cabinet in the family room. I did not know much about how to set these up, so I called the pros for an estimate. I have three decent receivers I was willing to donate to the cause - whatever they could get to work. So, I got a quote back for $4,300. They said they could not use my receivers and I had to buy a new 6 channel receiver and a new four channel receiver. They also wanted $200 for each volume control knob installed (x10) (the locations were already roughed in). So, I did some research and found these Niles products. I bought a 6 speaker and 4 speaker selector and combined with my old receivers (if you do this, make sure you can drop the receiver to 4ohm), I have the whole house rocking for $450. Not bad.The sound quality has been great, and I hear no buzzing, clipping, or artifacts. I saw someone complain about the hole size for the wires. I have heavy gage in-wall wire and had no problem. Hooking up speaker wires is a breeze. Each zone has a connector that popped out of the back. You insert 4 wires into each connector, screw them down with a small flat head, and then the connector pops in the back like a cartridge. No bending over the back of the box inserting wires.The features are also simple to use. Each speaker set has an on/off button and the speaker selectors have 12 volume clicks. It is very fast to set the zones and volumes you want. The selectors also come with pre-printed labels with every home location conceivable. So when I look at both boxes, everything is clean and organized. The knobs are high quality and the housing is heavy duty. Looks pro all the way.I can't recommend these enough for someone wants to set up a multi-zone system and make use of existing equipment. And they are made in the USA.

simple, works as advertised. You may want to add an amp in front of this as splitting two 110W channels into four doesn't leave a ton of power.

I have three of these units throughout my home. They work excellent and if you decide to go with the "volume control" model it makes your purchase that much more convienent. A good choice for any Audiophile............
