4A great Predator figure
By Michael Pappalardo
McFarlane's newest line of figures based on the Alien vs. Predator movie is rich in detail on all 5 of the figures. Case in point: The Elder Predator.Seen only at the end of the Alien vs. Predator film, this toy features the Elder in all its glory, complete the long wristblades, extra gauntlet blades, and detailed armor and netting. The wristcomp on the figure's left hand opens, revealing in minute detail the Predator countdown sequence. This figure comes with its mask attached to its shoulder as an ornamental piece, and the actual face of the figure is rich in detail, complete with extra long blue 'dreadlocks', a cape(plastic) and a removable sword set in a sheath on the figure's right foot. This Predator figure is the most 'agreeable' of the 3 total released in this series in that it is easy to set and pose. If you invest in the figure stands via Spawn.com the figure should stand perfectly, though you may have to balance it back on the cape a bit. The figure overall is quite menacing and will be an excellent addition to your Alien and Predator collection. This toy is not meant to be played with, and should be bought by collectors only.As for problems, this figure, along with all of the others, is noticeably less in quality and almost appears to have been rushed. The sockets that connect the legs to the torso are blatantly visible, and there are black pegs drilled right through the knees, very visible on both sides, detracting from the overall appearence of the figure. BEWARE the sockets! The arm sockets are very loose and can EASILY become detached. The other two Predator figures in this series suffer greatly from this problem. The torso is also quite top heavy, so if you do not have the figure stands available from Spawn.com you will likely have to balance the figure entirely on the cape.

4Elder...detail nice...posability difficult
By jstrat121
The details are OK...not as nice as NECA items though.Figure difficult to pose correctly without mounting to a base(holes in bottom of feet). Also...there is a strong chemical smell(chlorine?) emitting from it that will last several weeks before it goes away. All in all....not too bad.Just wish NECA had made this instead of Mc Farlane.

5The King is here!
By A Customer
The King/Elder Predator is definetly one of the coolest Predators around. He's the oldest, most experienced in hunting, fighting, and pretty much everything there is to the Predator culture. As much as I can't stand only the first AVP film, I'm glad they at least bothered to but him in the movie, but still like all the other Predators in this specific film, they screwed up his size, making him look all short and bulky instead of the normal tall, slim, built, and athletic looking. One thing McFarlane did with the AVP figures to redeem the Predator characters is he gave them the same look, armor, and weapons, but made their body size look like the way the Predators are SUPPOSED to look, such as their body size in the Predator movies before the AVP film (Predator 1 and 2) and the movies that came afterwards (AVP:R and Predators). So in addition to getting the body type right, McFarlane did a fantastic job on the sculpting of his body, his face is sculpted to make it wrinkly. He did a good and accurate job with the painting, the markings on his face, his armor, cape, blades, mask, trophy bandolier, and the super long blue dreads like in the film. I always liked the King Predator as a huge Predator fan, and I'm glad he was in the film, but I love that McFarlane got the rights to make a perfect figure of the King in my opinion. The figure is great. It was in fact my first Predator figure. Even-though I've been a fan since I was 8, I didn't start collecting the COOL Predator figures till 2004, the time they really became big and movie accurate. So even if you think that the first film is trash like I do in my opinion, the figures by McFarlane make up for it. As mentioned before, they may look like the way they do in the film, but he takes their body size back to the roots of how the Predators are built and THIS Elder/King Predator figure is the best of them all.
