It's actually a 9" deep bracket, not 8"

We had to return this item when it turned out the bracket was actually 9" deep instead of the description that says 8" (it did not fit in the space in our kitchen). It's quite a hefty pair of brackets and no complaints about build quality here. It just didn't work for us because the product description was off.Summary of measurements in case these will help someone:Depth: 9" (not 8")Height: 10" (not 10.5")Width: 1.5"Thickness of the metal: between 3/16" and 1/4"Vertical distance between pre-drilled screw holes: 8.75"Length of included screws (both wood and drywall with anchors): 2" deep
