4Nice neutral slipcover
By Sandy
I have purchased two other slipcovers for this small sofa in recent years. The first one I had was made from a heavyweight jacquard upholstery fabric and was the best, though I tired of the floral weaved design. The second was a faux suede and was paper thin and did not fit well. This time I wanted to go back to a lighter but not too light neutral color in a damask with some woven design that wasn't flowers and this was the one, since the first slipcover company I purchased from is no longer around, and that was the best quality woven fabric. This fabric is not upholstery weight. It's not too heavy, but it's not paper thin either. It seems to be a nice weight and a nice weave too with a design that reminds me of loose fleur de lis...not actual flowers but curvy leaflike shapes, lighter on a darker ground.I have a pretty small couch, about 84 inches wide, so there was extra fabric, and with the right tucks, it looks great. It does come with instructions too. I love the way it fits the arms of the sofa as well. I put an old mop handle (wood dowel) into the back where the seat meets the back to keep the extra fabric tucked in tightly. It wasn't even that wrinkled when I took it out, so it needed no ironing. I did put it into the dryer on low just to air it out, since there is a definite odor to this fabric. I probably should wash it, but I fear it will need tons of ironing...so I am hoping the scent fades with time. That is my only complaint. It is in perfect condition and I like the neutral color. It's like a light tan (khaki-light goldish blend)color. It isn't too light or too dark. I am happy with my purchase.
