The Tele Vue Starbeam on a Pronto is a PERFECT setup!

This Tele Vue Starbeam red dot finder is alot more expensive then most others, but worth every dollar of it! First, it's all metal construction gives it that high quality look and feel. The very large aperture and variable intensity light source makes it easy to find the object of interest. But what sets this one apart from all of the rest is it's folding mirror design which allows you to just slightly move your head from the eyepiece (assuming it's in a diagonal) to looking through the finder's mirror to see the sky. All the while, you maintain a perpendicular position to optical tube, even when viewing objects near or at zenith. Try that with any other red dot finder, and it's a neck breaking while kneeling on one knee task to get your eye parallel to the optics. If you find you do need to view something parallel to the tube, just fold the mirror down out of the way, and look - it's that easy. This mounted in the slot of my Pronto's tube ring perfectly. Alignment is a breeze, and holds even when transporting the scope to darker skies. The wide field of view is a great match to the rich field of the Pronto. I use this setup more then all of my other scopes combined.
