Product Description

The Danner Supreme Mag-Drive Utility Pump is specifically designed for statuary, fountains, ponds, and freshwater or saltwater aquariums. It may be used either in-line or submerged. The Mag-drive is extremely energy efficient and is designed to run continuously. The pump consists of a power unit encased in water-proof epoxy which creates a magnetic field. This drives a powerful ceramic magnetic impeller, the only moving part. The pump contains no seals or oil, and therefore is virtually maintenance free. Size: 5.5" L x 3.4" W x 5" H. (950 GPH)

DANNER 9.5 MAG DRIVE PUMP

I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL DANNER PUMPS INCLUDING THREE OR FOUR OF THIS MODEL OVER THE 25 YEARS SINCE I BUILT A KOI/ WATERLILY POND. THEY FUNCTION WELL BUT EVENTUALLY WEAR OUT. WHAT GOES IS THE IMPELLER NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AND EVENTUALLY THE ROUND HOLE IN THE BODY WHERE THE IMPELLER DWELLS BECOMES WORN, OUT OF ROUND AND WITH GROOVES WORN INTO IT THAT THE PUMP BECOMES NON-FUNCTIONAL. THEN IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I MAKE A POINT OF CLEANING THE INPUT WEEKLY AND KEEP THE PUMP OFF THE FLOOR OF THE POND TO LIMIT PICKING UP DEBRIS. THEY ARE GENERALLY STURDY, WELL FUNCTIONING PUMPS.

I've been using this for about a year and no complaints. Appears to be a well made pump. Strong pump. Very quiet for how much water it moves.Easily gets 5 stars based on what I paid for it. Other pumps I've owned around this price were not as good.

Good complete kit

This is a nice kit, I really like the case. It does have every test you would need for a planted freshwater and a saltwater tank.The case makes it nice and easy to test. You can use the case as a test tube holder while you add drops if you need an extra hand. The pipettes make it easy to get and add water to the test tubes. It's easy to read the results of the tests except for the pH. I did get frustrated with the pH test because some of the colors are so close it makes it harder to get an exact reading. But you can get it with practice. However, I have been having problems with my pH and was testing so much I just bought a HM Digital PH-200 Waterproof pH and Temperature Meter. So I use the kit for everything else besides the pH and will occasionally compare the kit pH to the meter.The color charts for the tests are on the back cover of each individual test booklet. Each test comes with its own little test booklet that tells you how to do the test in multiple languages.So if you have a planted tank or saltwater tank or just want to have all the tests this is a nice test kit. But if you just want a test kit for all the needed parameters for freshwater then all you really need is the API FRESHWATER MASTER TEST KITOne thing that is annoying is the caps for the test tubes are loose and as long as you hold it by the top and the bottom of the tube it is sealed just fine for shaking the chemicals to mix them. But when you pull the top off it is very likely that you will get some of the contents of the tube on your fingers. The test tube caps could be designed a whole lot better.

This kit has everthing you need and then some, for aquatic plant care! Great price as each of these kits in the store will run you twenty dollars and up times ten. . . . you do the math!

Best I could find for the price

This is my second one.... cheaper than trying to replace the tubes and reagents. It's the most complete kit I could find and reasonably priced.

Runs for only one season

I bought one of these that broke after one season and was returned under warranty. The replacement pump also broke at the start of the second season so I bought the replacement impeller kit which was the item that broke. That lasted only 4 months. I have a 1000 gallon pond in the northeast and run this for 8 hours each day for 7 months before it's removed and stored in the basement.Each time, the problem is with the ceramic bearing in the base. After several months, it loosens and begins to rotate along with the impeller. This gouges out the bearing seat and causes the impeller to rub against the sides of the base and finally breaks the ceramic shaft of the impellor. The base bearing cannot be removed so the pump is now useless.Although it has only one moving part, that part is a huge problem. Two pumps, same problem three times.Cheers....

Powerful Pump

I have been using this pump for about a month, and it has been working well. It pumps a pond at the bottom of a waterfall, through a filter, and into the upper pond. The lift is about 3 ft, so I get about 500 gph for the system.The pump seems sturdy and well built. No problems so far.The only issue with the order is that the description said the filter was a foam block, when in fact it was a plastic cage. I don't have an issue with this because the cage works better in my application (pumping some silt is not an issue).

Best Pump I have Ever Had

I have had this pump for about three years now and it has taken a beating and kept on pumping. On its third spring some plant material was sucked into the impeller and ended up breaking it. I just ordered a new impeller for 25 bucks dropped it in and all better. POND MAG is the best. By the way replacement parts are easy to find and easy to change.
