She's so lovely!

I am a barbie collector and let me just say this doll is simply gorgeous! She sits in her chair really classy and her hair is so cute with the cat ears sticking up.This doll is made for adults. Wouldn't reccomend giving it to a child under 14.Good to see mattel making more ethnic dolls that are true to form!

WOW! What a beautiful face.

The lounge Kitty Barbies are so much fun to pose and actually the chaise lounge that accompanies this Kitty is lip shaped. This black barbie is so beautiful, and I'm very glad to see that they've used the Princess Of South Africa face mold on this doll as it is more authentic and realistic. I just love the one piece costume with it's leather and suede like materials. Of the two Kitties the black doll really steals the show. Over all this doll gets 5 stars, and she is a must have.

It's chess, but with nostalgic fun

OK, let's be honest. We're dealing with a chess set here. There is very little that you can do to mess it up. Some sets are fancier, but that's not what the manufacturers were going for here. Those of us who grew up with Sesame Street and the Muppets will love the nostalgic fun of playing chess with our favorite characters as the pieces. Of course, purists may scoff, but that's them taking themselves a bit too seriously. The only possible difficulty for some people might be remembering which character is what. Is the Swedish Chef a bishop or a rook? But that just means learning one or two associations (the knights are on horses, so no problem there), and you could say the same for sets costing hundreds of dollars (e.g., is Legalos a bishop or knight in the Lord of the Rings sets?).

Having gone through the Nutcrackers, they have moved on to Shakespeare's heroines. Barbie as Juliet is simply gorgeous. The black haired Barbie's are very rare, so this is an extra plus to collectors. Romantic and perfectly lovely, the dolls portrays the poignancy of Juliet's star-crossed love.The costume has a fitted bodice. The skirt is overlaid with gold chiffon. Golden cording also highlights the bodice and sleeves. It's repeated with a gold ribbon through her long dark hair. Delicate pink "toe" shoes complete the classic costume.As a former ballet dancers, I appreciate the care they are using in fashioning the toes shoes to look real.Gorgeous doll, a must for those collecting the ballerinas, a must for those seeking the rare black haired ones.

Truly Beautiful Collector Doll

Having been a Barbie Doll Collector for 10 years now, I cannot imagine anyone seeing this doll and not believing that finally Mattel has gone back to the roots of feminine beauty in its purest form. She doesn't have the glamour of Mackie's Goddess of the Arctic or the sexy Diva Collection.... but what this doll does have is a sense of innocence and a hauntingly angelic face. The photographs simply do not do her proper justice. I purchased 2 after I personally saw her: the face of an angel, the wonderfully feminine gown, and gorgeous deep brown hair make her worth purchasing
