Product Description

In the western United States, a peaceful culture of Native American Indians thrives. Rooted in ancient traditions of respect for the land and nature as well as a powerful spiritual heritage, the tribal people known as the Navajo endure. Many Navajos continue to wear traditional clothing daily, especially for ceremonial or social gatherings.

Dressed as a princess of this proud Navajo Nation, Barbie is wearing traditional dress and authentic jewelry. Her woven shawl features ceremonial colors with symbolic and stylized patters. Her necklace is a strand of turquoise-colored beads with a "squash blossom" pendant. She also wears a "concho" belt, earrings and sunburst broach. Her long printed skirt and dark open-necked shirt are consistent with everyday wear for most Navajo women still today. Barbie measures approximately 12 inches tall.

Beautiful addition to DOTW collection

This is a gorgeous doll and great for a young and/or new collector.The faux turquoise jewelry is a wonderful detail.Her facial feautures are lovely.It also gives some interesting historical/cultural information on the back of the box.If you like barbies, especailly native american barbies she is a nice,not too expensive, addition to your collection.

JUST ABOUT RIGHT

WE LIVE ON THE BORDER OF THE NAVAJO NATION. MANY OF THE OLDER FEMALE NATIVE AMERICANS WEAR CLOTHES LIKE THIS ON A DAILY BASIS. NOW WHEN IT COMES TO THE PRINCESS OF THE NAVAJO...HERE WHERE WE LIVE SHE IS USUALLY IN A T-SHIRT AND BLUE JEANS BUT WHEN SHE APPEARS AT TRADITIONAL CEREMONIES SHE IS THE CLOTHING OF HER CULTURE. WE HAVE LIVED ON THE BORDER OF THE NAVAJO NATION FOR 23 YEARS AND I FEEL AND WELL AS MY FAMILY THAT THIS BARBIE SHOWS THE CULTURE OF THE NATIVE AMERICANS.

Beautiful Navajo Barbie

This is indeed a beautiful doll. The expression on her face is one of serenity and peace. Her face is not over the top with make up. She looks like a natural Navajo Native Woman. I applaud Mattel for the feautures of all of the newer barbie. Too pretty.I reccommend before she becomes exstinct.

Packers Helmet

This was a Christmas present for my 20 year old son. It arrived in time for Christmas Day. He just loves it!!! He was so excited when he opened it. He wore it on Christmas Day and we have many pictures of him with it on. He was so proud of his gift and I was too for such great quality. Well worth the money! His dream is to go to Lambeau Field and have all the Packer's players autograph his helmet one day.A Very Happy Packer's Fan!!Frostburg, MD

I am a barbie collector and let me just say this doll is simply gorgeous! She sits in her chair really classy and her hair is so cute with the cat ears sticking up.This doll is made for adults. Wouldn't reccomend giving it to a child under 14.Good to see mattel making more ethnic dolls that are true to form!

WOW! What a beautiful face.

The lounge Kitty Barbies are so much fun to pose and actually the chaise lounge that accompanies this Kitty is lip shaped. This black barbie is so beautiful, and I'm very glad to see that they've used the Princess Of South Africa face mold on this doll as it is more authentic and realistic. I just love the one piece costume with it's leather and suede like materials. Of the two Kitties the black doll really steals the show. Over all this doll gets 5 stars, and she is a must have.
